I've been trying to do my due diligence on picking out the right epoxy floor for my new 3 car garage and I'm stuck on the finish. I thought I was all set on color and flake, but then I saw a floor at one of my customer's house that looked like there was no flake, but rather a grit. I can't seem to find anything out about it and my customer didn't know what it was. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If it's not just epoxy with slip additives it, it may be Roller Rock from Daich coatings. I used that in my last patio and it has grit in it from ground granite.

I have an epoxy/flake coating. Applied maybe 10-15 years ago. All good, but it’s like a slip n’ slide when it gets wet. Do consider the anti-slip additives. Guessing I could add anti-slip material to a new clear top coat?

We sell all of our epoxy coatings with 'grit' for texture if that is the look you want. Our www.armorcladepoxy.com 100% solids is our most popular garage coating and comes standard with a non skid additive. If you desire to have it 'grittier' we can do that at no additional charge by swapping out the non skid to a larger particle size.

It's applied very similar to epoxy. I pressure washed the patio to clean off the loose dirt, then used their etching solution and a scrub brush. Applied the coating as directed with their recommended rollers, and used 2 coats of their clear. Process was very easy, biggest issue was keeping the dog from walking on it. We just moved, but I did it was almost 3 years ago and it held up great. I walked on it barefoot and it didn't hurt, but it had plenty of grip when I would get out of the hot tub with wet feet, even in the winter.
I pressure washed it annually to clean off the dirt and it would look like new. No fading or chipping. I'm considering using it on the front porch of my new home once all my other projects get done.
I'm not sure how it would hold up in a garage even though they recommend it as an option. It also collects a lot of dirt and grime due to its texture, so cleaning it indoors would be a pain.
