Finally found myself a Kennedy Machinists Toolbox. No exciting tools inside but some punches and files. But it was only $7. A little rust and felt needs to be replaced. Keys were included.

Heck of a find for 7 $. Rained most of last weekend here, so most sales were off. It's currently pourring rain here and looks like it will continue to do so all weekend, that plus it being a holiday weekend isn't going to translate to many sales.

Picked up this hatchet this morning because it just looked so clean & nice.
Looks like the seller refinished the handle
Is it possible this is a 20's logo?

Got these today at a consignment shop. $7 total. They debated whether that ratchet came that way, or was bent.

USA Screwdriver

West Germany pliers/cutters

Japan pliers

Proto mini-pliers

Sears screwdriver

Round-the-bend ratchet

Bearing puller made by Smalcalda in GDR. Little to no use I believe, paid 10€ for it.
Was a thrift store that was basically a big house in the town centre filled to the brim with stuff. Guy that ran it said it was his hobby.

Two 50th anniversary gold glitter screwdrivers for $.50 each was my favorite bit.

One still sealed in the bag.
I'm sure you are aware that ever since Rickster left metro Detroit for SE PA, we've all had opportunities to find items. Rick would have been to that sale before dawn with coffee and donuts for the homeowners:)

Found this kind of stubby Stanley sweetheart screwdriver and HAD to have it. It is hard to get scale but it is around 9 inches. Paid too much.

Here are some my last week's finds. Sadly it is the last year of the Fremont NE swap meet. Went for the first time 4 years ago and attendance has declined by about 1/2 each year. 1 of 2 decent sized swap meets with in 4 hours of home.

Bonney CV Fridge Set with all the sockets? Missing ratchet $7

Rest is $1 or less. Most of the sockets were 2/$1.
Highlights include.
Plomb 5468
10" diamond and bluepoint adjustables.
Diamond monkey wrench 50 cents!!
Snappy ratcheting screwdriver with Ford Motor on it
Bog Offset hex drive ratchet.
Bonney Brake springs pliers.
1/4 Blackhawk (possible nuggies) sockets.
Plomb 3/8 pebble ratchet
Plomb round beam 10XX DBE
Tiger and chrome alloy sockets and what appears to be a Chrome Alloy sliding tee with 5 and 10 extensions.IMG_20190627_192112414.jpgIMG_20190627_193730685.jpgIMG_20190627_193738583.jpegIMG_20190627_193745392.jpegIMG_20190627_193751270.jpegIMG_20190627_193848724.jpegIMG_20190627_193854415.jpegIMG_20190627_193904991.jpeg

Yep, that is the original logo! I have a hatchet with that logo too!

Thanks, How cool is that! I thought maybe there was some sort of re-issue of vintage logo stuff. Well worth the 4 bucks, right?

Snap-on, Cornwell, Proto, Pl^mb,Armstrong, Wright, Williams... $47.

And ecotec, nice find. You could have been the guy I was a step behind all this morning.
3 different places that advertised Snap-on stuff all said "yeah, another fella was already here & bought all that stuff..."
Sigh... :(

Today's pickups:

- Proto flare nut wrenches, 7/16" to 1". Interestingly, Proto skipped the 3726. No 3734 (1-1/16) or 3736 (1-1/8) present, which are the only sizes included in the 1949 Proto catalog 4922M not part of this set. Suspect the grey box they came in was a replacement.
- Barcalo-Buffalo 11/16 x 3/4 offset DBE

- 3 (empty) cans for M1909 blanks (.30 caliber). They're modern style cans, despite their original contents.
- Bird dog training book
- 2 pair Vietnam-era BCDs
- Kiwi shine box

Earlier in the month I was finding stuff faster than I could take pics of it, then the past week or 2, pretty dead. Hit a sale at a mini storage this AM, few different vendors. As I get out of my truck and walk in, a guy comes over and says "we're getting the big vise out now". Weird, I don't know him from Adam, but he obviously knows I collect vises. They drag out this huge Hollands 78 6" offset jaw vise, set the hook, and reel me right in. Have to pay a little more than I usually like, but when would I ever see another? Found a box of pullers as well, sorry no pics, but a bunch of it was Snap On. Then as I'm leaving, see another vendor, stop, and see this vintage Schwinn Stingray bike with a piece of tape on the seat that says "Free". Thinking it's some sort of trap, or maybe he got it free and forgot to take the tape off, nope, It's a free bike. Well, if it's free, it's for me! Thank you very much.

Nice haul. I particularly like the Proto pebble flare nut wrenches. You’ve got me beat on those by a mile! The BB DBE is GMTK correct for a 41-W-603 or a late war 41-W-619-636. Good find.

So there was a garage sale couple houses down the street this morning. The guy had a shop Smith. On my way from work it was still there sitting in front of the garage. So tonight I went on a walk, rang the bell and asked him about the asking price. After a little negotiating I ended up going back home...to get my truck and gave him $175.

Contains:
- drill press
- tabletop saw
- horizontal drill
- drum sander
- disk sander
- wood lathe

Supposed to have all bearings and cord with switch changed 18months ago. The guy even built a flying plane with it years ago.

I think I'm just blabby. Plus, my posts are always two-parters. First part is high-level finds. Second part is close-ups or links to close-ups posted in other brand- or type-pertinent threads, so I am cutting my total in half!

I was way out of my territory this week guys (TDY to Ft Huachuca, AZ), but thanks to a tip from MR. X (not a reggler here in GarageSaleThreadLand), I hit a place called Kent's not too far from the Tucson airport on my return leg. My full report, with pics, is linked here.

That is an interesting vise. Look at how the vise body has a "trough" to support the slide.

Blah. Hot hazy humid this morning at Jake’s flea. Few vendors. Spent a whopping $3 and got an unmarked 3/8dr ratchet (Proto WF?), a 6” Proto Los Angelos adjustable from 1957, three Snap-On sockets from 1940, and four Bonney 1/2dr sockets.
Seen but not purchased: a 5” Chas Parker vise (priced $275). Down rt29 to check on a pair of cast in Mexico cafe table pedestals I had seen a few months ago, they were gone. Saw this “Yankee” No29 screwdriver. Looks ancestral to the Stanley screwdrivers, but with “knurled” grip on alternate lands. Pretty nifty, and I would have bought it, but it was unpriced in a bin in a nonspecific corner of a co-op. Didn’t feel like going through all the discussion with the cash register attendant to get a price.

Wonder how long 3Bay will hold the tease; too long as we get distrac... Look! A butterfly!

Slim pickings, but pickings are pickings...

Managed to get 4 stops to produce (sometimes barely)

Started off with an old school SS spatula for the camp gear for cents fifty

attachment.php

Got all this for $5 - weird old hand maid lock, WITH the key, (Paging Jeff)', Segmented bar (I suspect one section went AWO) Hand grinder (WITH a stone that is concentric! - Probably go in to the "Coleman camp trip" tools where we often work on lanterns and stoves that need it), Stilleto #2 phillips, 1/4" tee, seems good quality but no markings.

attachment.php

Dry wall anchor sand 3/8 X 1-1/2 soc head cap screws - he had two tubs of fasteners for $5 ea, but I don"t need any I don't use routinely...

attachment.php

Coffee pot was thrown ion fro free - this is for SWMBO and my youngest daughter to fight over (could turn into a three way if the oldest daughter jumps in...)

attachment.php

third stoop - Hippie style purse, may go the same as the pot above...

attachment.php

Last stop and actually on my street! Mini waste pail - might use this for the scrap bucket for compostable food/paper

attachment.php

And a couple of diggers - the Army shovel appears to be AMES and 1965
pail and diggers were $10 total

attachment.php

ell perusing an Estate Sale website yesterday and decided 50% off day was enough incentive to go and managed to find this in a shed. This is now the 3rd one I've found. I will need to collective's assistance in locating a pair of drawer slides. I have the missing drawer, just not the slides. I will update with pictures, dimensions of the slides when I know them.

Only one stop today netted me this. I haven't gone through them yet, but 4 are trigger type and 4 are thimble type.

$10 ÷ 8 oilers = $1.25/each. Not bad.

Great price on the oilers. A lot of sellers around me think those things are lined with gold.

Didn't bring him a lot but I like picking up weirdos so today was a good day.

Elgin tap set that appears to be complete, below it is marked Faskin MFG Co. NY, next is marked UNIVERSAL METAL PROD LA CALIF, a Moore Drop Forging wrench and a Husky rat. The stuff on the left is all Craftsman.

Thanks joco. I saw the brass eagle oiler and had to have them all. The larger one with the hard nozzle line was elsewhere in the garage and the seller let me add it.

The larger one with hard line- unknown
2 larger copper colored flex line- Dutton-Lainson (Goldenrod?)
4 thimble type are unmarked as far as I can tell. Largest one has a flex line. 2 smallest are very small.
Then of course the brass Eagle. It's a bit beat up, but I can't complain.

:) Well here it is. Pretty much a hodge podge but it seems like some WWII socketry neatly kept together. I looked at these several times in the past, and today was able to work out a better deal with the seller.

It consists of some Duro Indestro, Duro Chrome, S-K, New Britain, Armstrong,Wright, Plomb, Snap On, and Bonney. The interesting bits are 4 PWA sockets and a crowfoot, and a Plomb crowfoot.

From the same seller, came this bunch.

Snap On flip socket, a few other Snap On sockets and racing edition screwdriver, a small OTC bearing splitter, and hard to resist another nice Williams 3 ratchet.

Hit sale on Friday and today, with good results.
First sale Friday yielded this:

Schwinn Chicago tricycle. I paid $50 for the frame and 3 mismatched wheels and fenders. I was lucky as other people were asking about it as I was putting it in the truck. I think the wheels are from a '50s kids model which might be the reason. Next stop was an expensive estate sale but I managed to pick up these for $7

Unused taps, Knipex Cobras and Proto snap ring pliers. I do not understand the love for the Kleenex so they go in the sale pile.
Today I hit a few sales, some planed that had nothing and some TOO's that were good. First two stops were bunk, but the third was a TOO with great results:

An Amprobe type multimeter, AMES dial runout gauge and an Albrecht chuck on a MT2. $5
Next stop was the ES from yesterday for half price day.

Challenger 1/4 ratchet, Proto rubber mallet and Proto 5450. $8. They had no idea about the Proto ratchet and thought it foreign. The next two stops were duds, but after that was an estate sale I had been to a few weeks ago.

So, Brownell's metric screw gauge, two chip brushes, Starrett punch, Snap-on 11/32 wrench, Fairmont line wrench, Box for a Millers Falls speed indicator and a full box of 8/32 machinist screws. $5.
After that, I went for Chinese buffett.
