Garage door dog gate questions

There are 1000 pics/ideas but looking for something slightly different.

We have two: One is 20#, smart, barks at everything and not scared of small spaces. If there's a small hole or gap she'll find it and break out of jail. The other one is a 50# brute. She's not smart and jumps/pushes/pile drives anything she can.

I want no holes or gaps that is strong enough a 50# moose can have at it.

I also want something with a bigger gate for people because I often bring the welding cart out into the driveway and need to go back & forth. I'd also like something that's easy up/down and small footprint.

Goal is to be able to have garage front & back doors open, create airflow to keep it cool and let the dogs come & go as they please between garage and back yard.

What about a Dutch door with a double hinge? Pics below, but put that diner hinge on the bottom half of the door, dogs can push it from either direction to get in or out, and it's big enough to move a cart thru if needed

I was hoping to be able to raise up the whole garage door and span something across.

I'm also wondering about welding. I often weld out in the driveway with garage door open. Anyone know anything about dog eyes and welding arcs? I was hoping to buy or build something see-through but should I be worried with them being 10-12 feet away from a welding arc?

I would cut it to the width of the garage then sandwich the ends with a pair of 1x2 or scrap lumber screwed together, attach one side (or both) with either springs or heavy duty bungees to keep it stretched tightly to keep the little dog from slipping underneath it.

yes you will make your dogs blind if they look at the arc. Their eyes are about 2X more sensitive than humans. Wouldn't it be easier to just not have them nearby when welding?

Got it. I want my cake and eat it too. It's easy to put up an ugly wood barricade that they can't see through and whine behind it. I wanted something that's open enough that they can see out (so they can act like assholes and bark at anything that walks by). Didn't know their eyes were that sensitive. That makes a huge difference. I'm going to talk to the Mrs. and we'll re-think this approach. Maybe just keep the back door open with small gate.

Just buy a welding curtain and make sure they are behind it. But yes, the arc is just as bad for them as it is for you.
