Rebuild Kit Comparability Snap-On F720

So I have an old (very old?) 3/8 ratchet that I want to rebuild. I know that the 720 was a 20 tooth ratchet, but over the years they killed off the 20 tooth rebuild kits and now your only option is the 30 tooth kit. That's fine.

But, I remember a thread that said the quick release kit from the F723 would fit into a 720 body. The thing is I can't find a rebuild kit for the F723.

According to this guide:

https://public.snapon.com/RatchetRepairKits/RepairKits.pdf

The proper kit for my ratchet is the RKRAF730, which Snap-On sells for $10.

The rebuild kit for the quick release F723 would be RKRAF723, which is no longer stocked.

Looking for someone more knowledgeable then me to confirm before I pay 3x retail on ebay for one. I'm wondering if maybe there is another part number which might fit the F723 that someone might know of?

The kit you are looking for is RKRAF723 30 tooth quick release.
Fits F723, F723A.
I purchased 1 that was made 5-27-17,
Hope this helps.
I also see no longer available.
What is wrong with your F720?

Why go on eBay? Email or call Snap on corporate. They may be able to help you out. I
requested rebuild kits for my F713A and F723 ratchets a few years ago and Snap on shipped them to me free of charge. I also grabbed the F720 ratchet I had lying around, measured the holes in the ratchet body for the cover/quick release button and I don't see why the internals wouldn't be interchangeable.

I was trying to figure out the part numbers ahead of time because I assumed Snap-On wouldn't help me given that its not a straight warranty replacement, but a modification. I only plan to buy from ebay if Snap-On doesn't stock the part anymore (there are still a few kits on ebay in the $25-30 range.)

Is the pawl or Anvil (gear) damaged on yours ?

No, I don't think so. It's just old and abused. My guess is the springs are worn. Also, as time goes on I'm having more trouble pulling sockets off on all my ratchets, admittedly that's more a problem of my own hands then the tool, which is why I want to swap out to a quick release head if possible.

The reason I asked is because I might have a 20 tooth 723 anvil that would fit your ratchet.
Not an upgrade in tooth count, but it would get you to a quick release.

When I purchased the kit to upgrade mine, I kept the useable parts. They should be in my tool box at work.

As much as I like to make fun of Snap on sometimes, they do have a passion for their tools. They should know better than anyone else which rebuild kits are compatible. It can't be that hard for them to sell you a compatible rebuild kit for an out of production ratchet if they have it.

A converted fv71. Using a 721 wheel, the 721 diameter is about 25/32. And the 723 is about 7/8, both of these are 20 count

Give Snap-on a call. You would not believe how good their customer service is. If the representative doesn't know the answer they will find out while you are on the phone.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all of your thoughts and help.

I'll go ahead and give Snap-On a call, I guess it can't hurt to ask.

Mike, I really appreciate the offer - I may reach out to you depending on what Snap-On says.

Just in case anyone was following along - Snap On customer service is awesome and the woman was completely willing to help, but they don't keep a cross list of parts that "also fit." They only have the proper part number and any replacement part number beyond. So she couldn't tell me what, if any, kit could be used to turn my 721 into a quick release ratchet. However, it seems that their website is in turmoil because of a transition. So just because it isn't listed or is listed as out of production doesn't mean you can't get it. They do still have the RKRAF723 and two kits are on their way to me as we speak.
