Hi:

This is for all the people that own a Mityvac 7300. I bought the Mityvac 7300 pneumatic fluid evacuator and hooked it up to my compressor to give it a quick test. I wasn't evacuating any fluids, just giving it a dry run. I had a couple questions:

1) When the handle for the valve control is pointing up or down, that means the valve is open and ready to evacuate any fluids?
2) When the handle for the valve control is pointing to the side, that means the valve is closed?
3) With the handle pointing up or down, the suction on the end of the pick up hose feels pretty weak, is this normal? It doesn't SEEM like it will be strong enough to pull any liquids, at least it'll be very slow.
4) Is it normal for a lot of air to be hissing out while operating the evacuator?

The test was done with 90+ psi.

Thanks for any help.

1. Yes
2.yes
3. Try sucking a cup of water. I think the suction improves as the canister fills. As always though, check your connections for air leak and make sure the o ring and foam insert are present in the cap.
4. Yes, they're loud but, once you start using it, it will become one of your handiest tools.
A slight word of caution though, be careful evacing hot coolant. I had one shatter on me once, scared the **** out of me, and made a mess. It's a great tool and very handy. Also there's a little brass thing at the base. If that gets knocked off or broken, it won't **** at all.
