Atlas PVL-10 Lift

I'm facing the very difficult decision of picking a lift I think I've finally settled on one.

Anyone here have experience with the PVL -10?

I went to look at it in person yesterday and was pretty impressed with it. But hear horrible things about Greg Smith's support on repairs/parts. But then again shopping for lifts is like looking at insurance company reviews. Only bad ones are available (or dominant).

I just want to add a +1 to this thread. The Atlas Platinum PVL-10 is in my top 3, along with the Challenger CLV103 and the Bendpak XPR-10AS.

I like the column design of the Atlas, extra bends for extra rigidity, and according to the spec sheets, some decently thick steel. Unlike the Bendpak, it includes the truck adapters at no extra charge making it about $800 less expensive. The Bendpak does have a bit larger pads than the Challenger (17x19 vs 15x18" respectively), but the two have near-identical shipping weights, so it seems unlikely one is particularly more solidly built.

I really like the "versymetric" arm configuration on the Challenger. I worked in a shop some years ago with one of these and it made racking up all manner of cars quick and easy. I don't like that they hide their pricing and require going through a salesman.

The Bendpak seems to be everyone's go-to, but then everyone I've talked to with one has also had leaky cylinders and other problems. I also don't like how Bendpak has done all their side-by-side comparisons targeting their competitions entry level lifts and not disclosing which of their own they're showing, not really apples to apples.

At the end of the day, I'll probably just get the Bendpak like everyone else because they're muck more of a known quantity, I really haven't heard of anyone who's contacted them for warranty not getting taken care of. The others might be fine, but reports and reviews seem pretty scarce.

I don't own one, but a couple of neighbors have very similar lifts of the same design and they both love them. Those "S" bend columns and plate fabricated carriages tick a bunch of boxes for me. This seems like a dang nice lift for money.

Napa sells Challenger Lifts. Ask them for a quote; some of them are in the real deals flyer.

I bought two of these lifts, but have only had them for a couple of months so no information on support as I haven't needed any yet.

I am happy with the lifts performance, but unless it didn't lift cars over my head I am not sure how I could be unhappy with them.
