Not sure if you are looking at just Bahco, but this style set is available through quite a few different brands for considerably cheaper.

That being said, I've owned several different Jeeps (including CJ5/CJ7's, YJ's, and TJ's), and never once needed a pass through set. In fact, I bought a similar kit probably 4-5 years ago, and have yet to actually use it on any vehicle

You are correct, I just want it because it's likely nicer than most chinesium, covers all the sizes I would like it to and has a compact form factor.

At least in Finland, Bahco is one of the good brands, which cost more and should be quite ok. At least for the moment, I don't think they've made the mistake of making/selling a bad quality tool with the higher price you pay, so you should be good to go. To my knowledge, they don't have good and bad stuff to be aware of, just good stuff at a little higher price.

O.P. I would be very careful. I often see Bahco being recommended on this site, however that's the Bahco that is sold in the U.S. which I brlieve is Spanish made, and pretty decent.

The Bahco sold in the U.K. is a totally different animal. I believe it's Taiwanese made and it's nothing special. No better than any other Taiwanese, maybe not as good as some. It's sold here through the DIY stores which suggests that they buy it really cheap.

I certainly wouldn't bother importing it into the U.S.

COO depends on the item and should be available on the Snap on industrial website. If it's Made in Taiwan, it can't be worse than the Harbor Freight or Gearwrench go through socket sets.

Roger that, that's exactly what I was asking. Will proceed with caution if at all.

I bought a Blackhawk branded (China **** now) pass thru set and have never once used it. Eventually I will probably toss it.

I bought the set below a few weeks ago to do some suspension strut work. I thought the quality was excellent (and I own Snap On tools pretty much exclusively).

Hmm that's promising. Here's what caught my eye.

Possible decent quality.
Perfect size range. No SAE
Compact form factor.
No fluff.
Flex head, 12pt, no need for deeps for the occasional long bolt.
Fits my budget.

It will get low to occasional use, I'm not overhauling my rig in the weeds. Just tights a few loose suspension bolts, maybe adjust a tie rod, change a battery or give someone a hand that needs it.

To close this one out, I ended up with a nice little Williams Taiwan 1/2 set.

The Bahco skipped 18, and most of this Jeep is held together with 18mm.

Glad I caught that.

Bahco used to be one of Europes largest tool brands, and may still be, and they had tools produced in a number of different countries, including Sweden, France, Germany, Spain, Enland/Uk, Portugal, probably Italy, Argentina, and probably Japan, USA, Canada, Russia, China, Taiwan, etc.
after Snap-On bought Bahco and made them Snap-On Europe, they shifted a bunch of production from Sweden and Germany, to Spain and France, and other production to Russia, but a bunch of the tools are still the same and produced in the same countries they were.
Even the French and Spanish made stuff is good, although not as highly regarded as the original Swedish production.

As far as OPs question about the pass thru ratchet.
Most of that style of ratchet are currently imports from China or Taiwan, no matter what brand they’re sold under.
The brands sometimes have different handle styles made for them, as well as variations in the socket mounting design, but there are two main types now. The hex shank sockets, that have an outside hex design on the retaining end of the socket, and an external spline grooved outside on the retaining end of the sockets.
The hex designs usually come in three different mounting sizes, which are used to make the sockets equivalent to traditional 1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2” socket sizes, although there are variations in how the sockets lock into the ratchets.
The spline designs use the same size variations as the above for there mounting system.
I believe the spline design may belong to Apex or Danagher or whatever Gearwrench and there owner is calked nowadays.
The hex design gas shown up on Lowes Kobalt amongst other brands.
