New to the garage journal forum.Planning on building a tall freestanding cabinet for my garage, possible on wheels. I would like sides and doors. I don’t own a table saw, but have a circular say, skill saw, and a pocket hole jig. I’m pretty much a beginner at working with wood. I appreciate any suggestions, or if anyone can point me to a good thread, that would be perfect. Thanks in advance.

You can do fine with what you have. There are jigs to can make to help guide your circular saw cut very straight. The kreg system is good for fastening, get yourself some yellow Titebond II glue at Lowe’s for gluing our pieces. Wood magazine.com is a resource for wood projects.

Welcome to the forum!

I too am a novice wood worker. I built a bed frame for our master bedroom last month and it turned out pretty good. I wandered youtube for hours watching videos on cabinet and furniture making. Jon Peters is a good, fairly basic wood worker I learned a lot from on youtube. He builds things simple with basic tools.

not sure on what size you plan to build, but don't get it top heavy . and if you install casters, get them higher weight rated if you can so they roll easier. nothing worse than fighting with casters that don't want to roll.

I built this TV cabinet to match the wall unit. Used a Skilsaw and a router...

Thanks for the suggestion on titebond, I had already had some gorilla glue brand wood glue from a previous project, but I went and bout some titebond based on your recommendation...it was a much better product.

Thanks for the suggestions, I’m happy with how it’s coming out. Now to hang some doors.

Just about done. Just going to make some handles for the door and it will be time to fill her up with junk.
