For OP's needs, budget, and mostly considering what little he has available to him, I would get that clean Delta.

The only caveat is I dunno about if it speeds down low enough, but again, for the OP, it is ?probably? fine.

And that vise assume included,,, maybe not a Kurt or whatever, but will be very handy to have... used often.

I have a 10 in craftsman. Has been perfect for my general small shop use. If you do a lot of drilling then bigger and floor mounted.

Somehow I myself did not se that one.. but all the others are total **** that few of us here, GJ people in the States, would accept.

There really comparatively is a dearth of quality machines on Kijiji.

I dunno why.

It's like if they couldn't have taiwan or china Canada would have no drill presses.

WTH ?

Spending my life in MN and TX, I could always, in time , find old USA arn.

Yup, and that one has the table lift mech.

THAT's a Drill Press.

But probably more project than OP wants.

Bought at auction by a jockey looks like.

Roll of dice sight unseen

N/C on the shame.

I know it is more than you are looking to get, but I picked up one of these Porter Cable drill presses a few years ago and love it! I’ve had several consumer grade drill presses over the years and this is the best by far. I’ve had both table mount and full height drill presses. If you can find a place for a full height I would go that way, because there isn’t always enough vertical space on a table mount. If you plan on drilling larger holes in metal you will want something that accepts 2MT drills. This one does. Chris

A great old DP will almost always be a huge investment in time. (the search/travel, finding missing/broken parts and the restoration which could last months/years)

IMHO the results are worth it as long as you have the time/money/patience and "beater" DP to use in the meantime.

Or give up and buy that new PC DP the other poster suggested.

Does the OP want the DP to be a project or does he have projects for the DP? Choose one.

+1. That’s what I was thinking.

Do you want another project or do you want to drill holes.

If you want a project that will turn heads when completed, here is a neat camelback benchmount drill press in Michigan for $360 OBO. Aurora made metalworking drill presses from about 1820 to 1920 so it will do what you want went finished. It also appears to have an auto feed mechanism so you don’t have to stand there pulling down on the handle for big holes.

I have a WEN 4210 drill press from Amazon. I figured the 8-inch would meet most of my needs, but the 10-inch was not much more.

I've had it for about 3 years and it does everything well for my needs. It could definitely use a better chuck for larger drill bits and more speeds. I still managed to drill through 3mm titanium plates with it so I can't complain that much.

For $150, it was still better in materials and build quality to the other 10-inch models at the box stores and Sears.

This any good? Says second speed is busted.. he wants $110 for it which I think is way to much but think we could work the price lower just not sure if it’s worth it?

The Taiwan Jet's were decent machines.

I don't understand the "second speed is busted" comment. It has 12 speeds. If the damage is trivial then it's worth $100 but "the devil's in the details".
