Lock N Lube....why am I just now finding these?

After hassling and fighting lubing all the pins on a backhoe I found these nifty couplers on the 'net.

Ordered one up.

Definitely worth the hype.

Easy on....easy off. Dont "lock" on and get stuck when a zerk wont take grease.

Dont really see a downfall....short of price.

If you use a grease gun alot might be worth checking into.

Certainly made my life easier.63e22bf6b7b10c47e10d7a1f539d1cae.jpg

They make an adapter set which is helpful since they work with the quick connect. Ultimately I think you will need both the short and long version to cover everything.

It is much less of a PITA than traditional couplers.

I thought it sucked. I bought one because of all the hype on here hoping to waste less grease. After a couple weeks the fingers would not center the zerk properly

I discovered those a few months ago. I think they’re really great.

I've been using those or the cheaper canadian brand for a long time now. Doesn't fit anywhere but it stays on my Cordless 20v Grease Gun that sees 95% of the action and closer to all of the volume.

They work awesome, I have been using the same one daily for year and a half, Probably repacked a few hundred wheel bearings with it. Greased countless cranes, trucks, etc. It surprisingly fits 99% of the places a regular couplers. Most places i need a adapter i would need one with any grease gun coupler.

Use some brake cleaner or take it apart and clean it. I’d expect where you live most of the suspensions you see are pretty dirty. The cap is also a little sensitive, it needs to be fairly tight but too tight, it screws up the little fingers and they won’t seal.

I have one on a flex hose gun. Where you need them, they are just the thing.

I have the long version and really like it when I have enough room. I still have to keep a regular coupler around on my manual grease gun but my electric one does 95% of the work.

I screwed a zerk in the old coupler when I installed mine. For the tight areas I clip the standard coupler in the locking one and let it rip.

Thirty bucks on Amazon for coupler alone???
Are the cheaper one any good? Lumax, Utool for $17?
Been using the Lumax version on an M12 at work for a couple of months now, can go through 6 tubes of grease some days on customer equipment.

It's helped a lot with keeping the mess down (especially when I use the 90 degree adapter), and holds well enough to push through on some of the dried out gunked up zerks that I would've had to remove and clean out before.

As others have said, they're too bulky for some zerks in blind holes and u-joints, so I took the hose from my hand pump grease gun at home and put a zerk on it.

I need to get one of these. The only thing I don't like is the price tag...LOL.

Part of my job is greasing high speed fan bearings. I use the lock n lube and highly recommend them. Like others have stated they won’t fit all applications.

Just an update, been using my Lumax daily since the beginning of August with the only issue being the lock handle getting a little loose and not holding sometimes.

Came in on Monday this week, and it's not sealing when locked on anymore, just pumping grease all around zerks. Cleaned it out with a pick and brakleen, but no luck.

Ordered a real Lock N Lube that I'll see later this week.

That was my issue with the lock-n-lube. Total failure IMO. Lasted maybe a couple weeks, and 10 greasing-s of various customer suspension parts. My LNL came with a rebuild kit, maybe I'll try that. It's been sitting in one of my boxes for about a year since the spectacular failure.

I was so excited to use it. :(

Been wanting to try one for a while, but like others, cost is a factor. I also wondered about the cheaper ones to, but saw some bad reviews on them and decided to wait. Interesting to see some other reviews for LNL on here.

Slow day at work today, so tore apart the Lumax and found the rubber "cylinder" they use to seal had blown out, causing the leak.

Lock-N-Lube is still going strong. Really cool that it includes a rebuild kit, which makes it cheaper than the Lumax since I basically got two out of the one I bought. Will update how long it lasts, but we do slow down for part of the winter months.
