Gearwrench 8940 kit. It's the one in ATTappman's post, plus a T-handle, stubby, bits and a couple of shafts. The bits are merely adequate, about on a par with those that come with good quality power 'drivers, nowhere near Wiha or Wera, but the driver seems to be very robust.

I got my wife the Felo set to use around the house. Although it is very high quality, I've decided that I'm not particularly fond of ratcheting screwdrivers.

I received this exact same one as a Christmas present from the in-laws a couple years ago. I also have a Sears model #41796 (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...ame=Tools&cName=Hand+Tools&sName=Screwdrivers), also given to me as a gift. Both have worked fine, but I honestly forget that they ratchet most of the time. The Craftsman one is much heavier and feels like it has one way ball bearings with how smoothly it turns, but it should considering it's 5x the price of the Stanley one.

Let's see..

S/O standard hard handle ratcheting in Orange, Yellow & Black
S/O stubby hard handle ratcheting in Black
Gearwrench Standard ratcheting
Gearwrench T handle ratcheting
Spec Tools (sold through Cornwell for a time) stubby ratcheting

No complaints on any of them really. The GW I like the least only because of the material on the handle. Similar to the S/O "soft grip" material it tends to attract any dirt/dust and is a bear to clean off. It also just feels weird to the touch IMHO. Nice drivers otherwise though especially for the cash.

I agree, although GW's dead flesh is no worse than Snap-on's (I suspect it's the same substance) it does attract grime.

also have a Williams T-handle that works great

The handle on that Williams looks identical to SO.

Anyways I've got 5 SSDMR4Bs. Black, red, 75th Aniv, #3 and #8. An SSDMR8BO and a T handle stubby.

Both Britool and KS tools have a version of this screwdriver. I have the Britool version, and it has a smooth ratcheting action. Don't know who the OEM is though.

OEM is Hi-Five in Taiwan. It's also rebranded with the following names: Bahco, Bost, Facom, Suekage Tools and, SK tools.

The Wera one isn't a ratcheting one; it's a gearless type. :)

Here's my favourite ratcheting screwdriver that I've been using. It's a Megapro. Its racheting is precise and smooth, and the rotation selector is firm and direct (best I've felt, and I've tried the common hard-handled SO/Williams/Bahco, SK/Facom/Bost and KTC brands). The shaft has minimal play, provides adequate grip, and a good selection of double-sided bits that are securely mounted on a rotatable shaft.

Here's Megapro's website: http://www.megapro.net/products/index.php

Here's a stubby that I also use:

I think one of these will be my next tool purchase. I just need to decide which one is the best value for my money. What about the bits? Is there a better brand for them as well, or should I just match them to the driver?

Wow, I gather you're a fan. What are your thoughts about the S-o compared to the GW?

I think the Geardriver standard handle from Gearwrench is too large. The same goes for the Snap on 5 position model and their soft grip model (not pictured). The stubby Gearwrench model is a pretty good sized handle for me.
I like the old Snap on ratcheting hard handle but, those are the older style that you can't switch the blades on. that handle shape though is about as close to perfect as you can get. I like all of them. The Gearwrench models seem strong and smooth. I got a mega Gearwrench Geardriver set with the standard handle and tee handle plus different length shafts with bits and socket at Sears on sale for less than $20 a year or so ago. The stubby geardriver came with a gearwrench ratcheting wrench set also on sale at Sears a couple of Christmases ago. If you're not using a cordless screwdriver, a ratcheting screwdriver can make life a lot easier.

I dont have any ratcheting screwdrivers. I live on a farm and alot of are work is done in the field. Basicly the problem for ratchechting screwdrivers with us is that the mud gets them messed up and the water to. But thats just us. I think for a shop envioprment were your not scraping aways mud an all that there fine.

I have a couple of the old style orange Snap-on ratcheting screwdrivers. They are among my favorite tools.

I've had a SO hard handle ratcheting driver like those pictured since the late 80's. It is used often and is of my favorite tools. No problems at all. Had an SO with the interchangeable shanks that came in a box I bought and while I never really used it, I didn't like the soft grip and one of the shanks wouldn't stay in (detent ball stuck). I was happy when it sold. I just didn't like the idea of the shanks compared with the bits that stored in the driver. Have a few of the cheaper ones that came in box lots at auctions and when you have used a good one with fine teeth and nice grip, its hard to be impressed. I'm not saying SO has the only nice one, but the cheap ones I've come across (Kolbalt and Cman) its hard to be impressed. I'd be willing to bet the German ones are nice also.

Limited edition Aston Martin Racing. I believe they're UK-only. I'll get better pics tomorrow in the light. :)

Now that is cool. I bet a couple of our "english car" techs would love that. We don't get a ton of Astons for service but they do show up from time to time.

I've got one of these. Haven't used it much yet but seems fine for the price.

Yes, that piece that Moose has is truly beautiful and a unique piece!
