2 Gallon Gas Can - $2.72 [84% off]

Item #173395

https://www.lowes.com/pd/2-Gallon-Plastic-Gasoline-Can/50077795

**bad reviews but I picked up a couple due to low price

best review I read...
This is an unbelievably terrible product. It spills gas every time I use it. The only thing it fills effectively is filling myself with rage. I've been operating outdoor power tools for about a decade. I've spilled more gas in one summer using this piece of garbage than I have spilled in the rest of my life. The green 'locking' collar is very difficult to turn to the 'unlock' position. This then requires me to lean, hard on the can to get it to dispense gas. Then, if I can see that my mower is filling up with gas and I try to stop the flow of gas by lifting the can back up, the valve invariably gets stuck open and it spills gas all over the (sometimes hot) engine of my lawnmower. This is the opposite of what I want.

How this piece of trash managed to get UL approval is beyond me. Everyone involved should be ashamed.

This guy ^ should stop "sugarcoating" his review and tell us exactly how he feels!

BTW! After reading the review on the gas can I think I will pass...... I am still looking for a well made gas can.

I've been using the the No-Spill Can for several years now, great product but a little pricey. I'm assuming the current versions are still the same as the one I have as they do not look any different.

Because of how Garage Journal monetizes links with Viglink, you may need to copy and paste into a new tab of your browser.

Check out the SureCan. I got one for Xmas last year. Love the design, easy to use. It's a bit pricey though.

Big Hitachi clearance at my store. Had a bunch of cordless tools on a table. 179,199, marked down to 89 or so. Pretty good deals if you're looking to add on or start a new kit. Had too many different things to list. Had a "hitachi clearance event" sign right when I walked in the door... said till october 6th. This was waterloo, iowa

Maybe I missed it, but has Lowe's recently gotten rid of any sort of online coupons? Even the supply of the in-store ones seems to have dried up quite a bit.

I’m surprised they have any at all. I thought most of that had gone last year when they became Metabo HPT.

Never know what you'll get when you order online from Lowes. Ordered sets of those drill bits from 2 different stores after I couldn't find them in the store. Firststore substituted same Gold oxide set in Skil. The other 2nd substituted a Bosch 21 piece black oxide set in place of the 14 piece I ordered.

Was checking out at Lowes today and used a $20 off $100 coupon. The coupon scanned but the cashiers screen showed the $20 didn't come off and it displayed a code which said it was not valid on sale items. I have never had a Lowes coupon not work due to any kind of exclusion previously. I've used them on clearance and sale items for years and as recently as a month ago without any issues. Anyone else run into this yet?

YES! All the way back in July. Pressure washer that was on sale only had like $4.** taken off with the $20 coupon. So I said I'll save that, and use the 10% military. Same $4.** was taken off. I called and they said a recent change, has only 5% being taken off sale items.

I don't know the fine details, as the one place you would hope has them, doesn't. Thanks Lowes.

I'm not above leaving the items sitting on the check out counter OR the cart in the check out aisle and simply saying "no thanks" and stroll away. our local lowe's is the worst and i avoid it at all costs if i can help it.

My local Lowes recently posted plain unofficial-looking signs at some of the registers saying coupons can no longer be applied to sale items or in combination with any other discount.

edited to add:
The pos system seems to now recognize sale and clearance prices at the register. Previously coupons could be applied to just about everything. The wonky paper signs showed up around the same time. Not sure if this is localized or systemwide.

I did a bunch of coupon research years ago for a job and found that this is standard disclaimer on most coupons. Whether the system or employees stick to it are another matter altogether.

Looking at my most recent receipt, I received the 10% military discount on clearance items.

I always assumed the register automatically calculates the 10% discount after entering my phone number, but your comment has me rethinking that. :headscrat

Perhaps clearance still get 10% (after all they are trying to get rid of the item), but sale items were what was specifically mentioned

Picked up the Dremel workstation drill press for $37 yesterday. Retail was $49. I would screenshot it but it’s back to $49 locally. There were 2 boxes covered in dust and half open so I asked and they gave me an additional 10% off.

May be worth a look around.

Friends do not let friends buy Irwin.

They gave them away free 10 or so years ago when they first came out. You could trade in a set of pliers for one of the new irwin chinsey button design ones. I trade in a pair of no name generic possibly kid or dollar store pliers I had found free from someone. Grabbed one of theirs and an employee yells out; You cant do that! I just stood there looked at it and said; doesn't say I cant; finished grabbing a set of irwins and walked away. :lol_hitti

They **** and I gave them to a family member who is known to leave tools outside in the mud after using them.
