Don: I think you've made some signs from scratch so with all your talent would it be easier for you to make a few from scratch or is the hunt and restoring an old one part of the joy?

another great addition to the PARTY GARAGE!!

sunny and high 50's here today so not too bad!!!

Looking great Don. The Python brought back memories of the one I woke up sleeping with in Australia back in 91. That one was over seven feet long. The fruit bats were pretty impressive too.

Bobby
Waking up next to a python doesn't sound like any fun.
I haven't seen any signs of any more snakes around here which is good.

Clever Don. Love the era of the sign.

That sign was the last item in an auction and I got it for $10.00
Then I gave it to my pinstriper to alter to my needs and I'm into it less than the wood would have cost to make it. And it looks right in place where I hung it.

Don: thanks for the details on your sign purchase and redo and I was hoping you weren't spending big money on old signs just to repaint them to look like new.

your work and your energy are infectious so hope you live longer than i do so I can watch and learn and try not to drool all over my laptop when i see your work.

I hope those fires are not anywhere close to you and since your area had fires last year i'm guessing there really isn't much to burn. wish we could have given you guys some of our rain last month cause normal here in the wet PNW is an inch for September and we had over 3 inches last month.

hope you have some fun planned for this weekend. CAR SHOW or just a nice drive with your Dream gal?

Thanks for those nice thoughts Drives
Ann says my spending is out of control but you can't take it all with you lol
But what I do buy is always a pretty good deal or I walk away.
I remember your rainy days in the PNW

And as a matter of fact, I did go to a nice car show last night and today
It was a 500 count cars in the show and we were cruising about a 1/2 mile stretch of town on Friday night and over 2,000 people were walking around looking at the cars today
I was invited to park next to the D.J. truck (a good friend of mine) with plenty of room to stretch out between me and another car

And the Trophy's were on the other side of the car

I managed to score one for the Vette (That makes it 3 wins in 3 shows)

Don: sorry about the mistake assuming that was Ann with the trophy. It's been too long since we've seen each other in person I guess or my old eyes need a checkup and another prescription for better glasses. in any case it looks like a good day for going to a car show and meeting people that you knew or know now.

now back to your other threads to check on what you've been up to so which one first? 40 Ford panel truck that you are putting a new floor in today and good luck BTW, OR Blackhawk floor jack that needs some parts back from the chrome guy so you can put it together, and I think there was another one or two. Great to hear your friend Paul is helping with the 40 Ford too.

enjoy your day as I'm sure I will even though i think it's going to rain here and quite a bit cooler.

cheers

Had a great visit with a new found friend today.
Duker is in town on business and found some time to drop by for a visit.
We rode through the yard in my golf cart. Stopped in for a shot of the work shop and the projects under construction. Then walked through the party garage, Went to lunch and I drove him back to his hotel in the red Corvette.
A VERY NICE AFTERNOON

Thanks for dropping by Duker.

Went to lunch and I drove him back to his hotel in the red Corvette.

Something I missed out on although I did appreciate the Air Con of the Lincoln when I visited. Lunch with Don is a good time to sit back and relax.

Duker, You lucky dog!!!

Lucky, no. My bet is he would have enjoyed it just as much as I did.
Did he get to 6th gear is the big question.

Don, I can’t thank you enough, the tour, the lunch and the ride in the Corvette was about as close to a perfect day as you can get!

For those who have seen the pictures of the Party Garage and all of Don’s projects, all I can say is that the pictures don’t do the garage or his many projects justice. Not only that he is an incredibly gracious host including driving me back to my hotel which was way out of his way.

I joked with Don that he has projects to last more than a couple of lifetimes but then I started looking at how many items he has finished and if there is anyone who could get through all of those treasures he has stored out back it would be Don!

Thank you again Don, I hope to be able to host you and Ann one day on a trip though Texas!

LOL Simon, no 6th gear but then again I would have been happy just sitting in Park as the car is gorgeous.

I would say incredibly lucky!

I know and agree with you 100% as I had a couple of days with Don back in August as we 1 went round a few places in Orange County and then the following week did over 200 miles touring places Don wanted to take a friend and I to see.

I believe the 6th gear is overkill and may never be used in that car.

I've been trying to be a poor man's Don Long so we added some square feet to our garage and restored a bunch of junk... I don't know how you do so much and keep everything clean and in order... you're the Master!!

I enjoyed the day as much as you did I'm sure. Thank you for lunch. As far as the ride in the Vette goes I'm always looking for a reason to take that car off the lot so. It wasn't out of my way, it was a joy ride to Newport and back. I'll try to make it out your way soon.

What a nice garage. You've done well with it.
Yes they do take a little work to keep the place clean and ready to show but that's part of the fun of having a place like that.
I like all the helpers you have standing around in your place.

I came to late to the party. All the links to the pictures are broken =(

Wally is the only one with pic's today.

Hi Don and Ann,
Good to see that you are well and still collecting! Thought I would share some photos from my old old office at home of my music collecting. You know how I love The Beatles-you still have Ringo in your garage!
Stay well and always look forward to checking this site for updates.
Cheers David and Vanley, Down Under
