This guy broke a tired old Prentiss in a previous clamping force test, but he gave it new life by brazing a bunch of reinforcements onto the original casting, and boring out a pocket in front for a sealed ball bearing. The results are very impressive.

Sadly most of these mods are not really possible without a full machine shop, but damn.

I saw that video. Except maybe needing to find a way to counter bore for the thrust washer, what else really needs a machine shop? Just asking cause i think most guys could do this if they wanted

He meant Hipster Vegan millenial, not the lucky ones who grew up with gearhead dads.

I know a few people who are vegan and they know just as much as me or more mechanic wise. I know tons of "millennials" as well. I would venture to say if they were brought up entitled and mechanically challenged I would look to their upbringing. Who raised these spoiled vegan hipster millennials??? baby boomers... Its like Alzheimer patients who cant find any other word to come up for a problem so they keep saying millennial till someone agrees. I hear tons of complaining about millennials.. most come from the parents who raised them or millennials who have no idea that they are one.... BABY BOOMER (55-75) raised millenials and Millenials age (23-38) However if you were born between 1965 and 1980 you are an “unsung generation,” A generation “hardly recognized as a social force or even noticed much at all.” Those from age 39-54(gen X) raised Gen Z. According to government data, (Gen Z) adults between 18-25 have AMI (any mental illness) at a rate of 25.8 percent. That’s the highest of any age group, with adults aged 26-49 at 22.2 percent, and 50+ at 13.8 percent.
