I'd say it's a key cabinet. Whether or not it's a Craftsman is open for debate.

It may look like a key cabinet, but every key cabinet I have ever seen is mounted to a wall somewhere in the shop or in an office so that it can be found easily. This thing has a handle which means it is portable. I have never seen a portable key cabinet because it just means it's easier to lose all the keys at one time.

Toolmaker makes (in addition to tools) a good point...the handle is odd. That aside, I don't see what else it could be other than a key box. Craftsman branded everything from electric razors to...sky's the limit. I vote key box.

The Craftsman logo is embossed into the metal, not just a sticker. It's Craftsman for sure, and key cabinet looks right to me...
...except it has a handle. Key cabinets I've seen have all been wall mounted. Of course, I haven't seen them all.:dunno:

Wait! It could be for use by someone who does need to carry all those keys around - key blanks, that is. A locksmith!

Ok, let's settle this once and for all.
I say drill case because that's what I've seen in it. I can't find the old thread where I added pics of one, it was probably in Free Parking which is off Google radar. Where's Fowldarr?

I think Gungatim is correct, just this case doesn't have a special drill holder.

Practical examination of this box from an engineering standpoint immediately disqualifies this as a key holder. Key holders are not portable, they're wall mounted. Also, imagine the mess you'd have inside of this box every time you move it. Even the hooks would fall out.

This case carried a power tool of some sort. I'm about to bounce over to this massive tool catalog archive to start sifting through old Craftsman catalogs. Feel free to dive in.

As a side note, this guy has about 4,500 tool catalogs online all for free and reasonably easy to search. It's easy to get distracted and lose 2 hours of your day. You've been warned.

Here is mine. If you look at the left side you will see the same indents that let you adjust the hooks.

Box for a drill and accessories. I still have dad's. The hooks kept falling out of their slots, so dad pitched them out in disgust. The box is well made, and is usable if you pack it with foam.
