Here's a long C Craftsman 1/2" socket set I picked up with the toolboxes earlier. Goes from 1/2" to 1". Not pictures is a flat head.

I saw these at an estate sale. I passed on the DP because I just don't need another one, but for $100 it was a good one. I liked the bench grinder, but they just wanted too much for it IMO.

I was recently able to pick up this nice 4" Wilton about 5mins away from my house. This was a nice $60 score after a while!

I picked up my first Tap and Die set. There's no marks on the wooden box. I don't think the drill bits are original and two pieces have been replaced. The rest of the tools seems to be marked with "GTD GREENFIELD".
Can you guys teach me a little bit more about this set? Does it have a model # or something? Anyone have an old catalog with it? What is the approximate age and value?

I went to lowes and told them I need a 9/16" wrench and this is what they had...

J/k.

Ok, so here's the story. Back in February we had a water leak at home. I ordered 2 vanities through Lowes. It took them several attempts and more than three months to deliver them without damage. Besides a large discount, I also asked for this wrench. That was at the time when Lowes just came with the Craftsman line. I was told I could have it once they take it down. Now after another 4 months I got the call that my wrench is ready!! :) How ironic this happened on the day Sears declared bankruptcy.
I plan to hang it on the wall. The thing is taller than me!

Looks like it's been quite a while since I posted in this thread, so here we go. One of my newest acquisitions, Craftsman wall cabinet.

I feel very fortunate to have this cabinet in my garage, it will be a great addition. Now I just need to figure out where to put it!

This little Craftsman socket set was given to me by a family member and will eventually go in the wall cabinet.

This picture was taken in April. Since then I had acquired more stuff again and I'm learning that less can mean more. I need to reorganize everything soon again!

I recently got quite into York vises. I had all these shipped from the Czech Republic plus couple more that I sold to fellow vise collectors, some of them from GJ.

The York 125 is NOS and all the others are pretty clean too.

Check out my York vise history thread!

I spent a little more time organizing, it's starting to look better now. I removed the doors on the workbench and built an extra shelf to store random smaller items.

I recently purchased these toolboards from another GJ member. Still need to fill in some of the Thorsen wrenches.

I wish Craftsman actually had made these boards! :)

Honza,
I’m heading to the Bay Area on Monday for a week or so and will probably be able to fill some of the holes for you on the Thorsen board. I’ll check Proto too but I don’t think I have very many metric tools.

I just had a delivery from a fellow collector which turns out to be a nice Craftsman 05196. The bottom central swivel base screw is not original, besides that seems to be in good shape. That makes it my second 05196 and I still have the 05195. I sold my 05191, not a fan of fixed base vises.

Honza,
I did a preliminary check of my extra Thorsen and Proto tools. I found a Thorsen 3008, 3012 and 3014 for your Thorsen board. I also have a Proto 8 and 13mm socket in 3/8” drive. Surprisingly, I found two of the Proto British Standard 3/8” drive sockets. I can probably drop them by your house on the way back up to Tahoe.

I've been dealing with rats or mice in my garage. They decided to live under the workbench the previous home owner built. It took me a while to figure that out. Eventually I ended up removing and getting rid of that L shape workbench, taping and painting the drywall behind it.

I put casters on the 8ft workbench I built back in 2016 and put it inside the garage. I just built a shelf in it yesterday night to be able to store more items. I also built this recessed space for silicon etc.

I also acquired an older Snap-on toolbox that will help with storing smaller tools.

The plan is to put the Craftsman 150 Drill press on top of the workbench as well as a vise. I'd like to figure out a way of a platform how to switch my vises on the workbench without having to drill new holes every single time. I also plan to hang up the Craftsman wall cabinet.

I got quite overwhelmed with all the items I had and decided to keep things simple during this "garage restart". I sold one of my drill presses (keeping the Craftsman 150), sold the Shopsmith (great tool, but way too big) and selling some other tools that I just can't fit in or can go by without. The goal is to keep things functional and organized and feel comfortable and peaceful whenever I go in the garage.

I decided to cut down on my vise inventory keeping only certain vises (Reed 104S, Craftsman 5163, 5195, 5196; York 125, CFROH 125). I already sold my Reed 206R (mistake? we'll see long term) and will also put my Reed 3C as well as some Yorks for sale.

I still need to figure out where to store the vises I plan to keep as the goal is that every single thing in my garage has its own home! I also need to figure out if I have space for the wrench boards...

Back in December 2018 I bid on an interesting vise on a Czech auction site. It was a 4" vise with CFROH marks on it. I negotiated shipping with the guy and he sent it. 3 months later the vise still wasn't anywhere. Then tracking said the addressee was unknown while it showed up in customs. What?! They didn't even attempt to deliver it since it didn't make it out of customs. Then it was sent back and the post office wanted a good chunk of money from the seller to give the vise back to him. I just told him to let it go and was disappointed. Tracking also said it was damaged, I assume he didn't pack it well and address got damaged on the package.

I came across a second CFROH vise after that, a 5". This time I chose a different strategy. I had it shipped to a friend of mine in Czech. He agreed to ship it to me. With the vise being around 26kg (55 pounds), he wasn't happy to take it to the post office. Finally after several months he shipped it through Fedex last week and in September it showed up.
It sure is a unique vise! The jaws (simple rectangle shape) are just pressed in the pins, no screws. It's got some character, the front view shows the sides are not symmetrical.

In the mean time someone on GJ in the vise thread mentioned CFROH stands for Carl Froh. It's a German vise. Possibly pre-WW2?

Here's a video of my CFROH vise:

I stained the shelf I built in the workbench and put some tools back. I also put up the Craftsman wall cabinet and my wife made window curtains for me. Pretty happy how it's starting to come together!!

I haven't figured out where to put those yet.
I'm thinking about putting the drill press on the right side of the workbench, but not sure where to put those tool boards.

It's starting to come together! I put up the Thorsen toolboard and mounted the vise. It feels relaxing to walk in the garage now :)

Looking good. My garage is a mess. I need to make some time to pick it up. I will also check for some Thorsen wrenches to see if I have any you are looking for.

It's getting closer to the final stage as I'd like it to look like :)

Last night I built a little vise shelf to store vises. While some people say the shelf is too small, I really want to stay organized and plan to be picky about what vises I keep. I still have York 125 and Craftsman 05195 that are not on the shelf.

I'd like to upgrade the toolboxes at some point, but don't have the funds at this point.

Hey! I was trying to find the vintage of the three drawer I just picked up and realized that it was from you! Thanks again, and nice set. I actually have the same Snap-on set as well

Cool! Here's my Craftsman boxes now that I added a second roller (and yes, I also have another middle chest). I'd like to upgrade them eventually to something never, so will be putting these boxes for sale possibly next year

It's been a while since I posted. I've been getting into a little bit different projects lately :)

I also sold my Craftsman toolboxes and purchased a 72" US General for practical reasons in the beginning of this year.

Honza,
Welcome back. I was worried that something bad might have happened. I’ve gathered a few more Thorsen wrenches. I’ll go through the duplicates and see if I have anything on your wish list.
-Don
Edit. Here are my duplicates but unfortunately there’s nothing on your list.
