I'm buying a new garage (with attached house) and the entry to the garage has a slight slope towards the garage. I'm thinking of putting a drain across the front of the garage to move any water away from the house. It's a two car side load setup. I'm thinking a 5x20 or so section needs to be replaced.
I'm trying to figure out an approximate cost. Can't get anyone out for a quote until next week and I need to have a good guess in the meantime.

In the Raleigh burbs. Thanks for any input.

The extra thumbnail is a bit cattywampous. Ignore it.

Do you need to replace the full section? Why not saw cut by the garage?

That's what i was thinking but one person said they would have to do a larger section to address slope. Of course they haven't seen it in person and won't give numbers until they do.
The area around the arrows is recessed about 2". I assume that would be cut out and raised to match the drain. You can see some staining on the floor behind the door line where water has come in. That's what I want to correct.

When you say recessed... what are you referring to?

As Zippercat said, use a quick cut and cut the driveway the width required. Dig the trench for the trough, install trench, use expandable caulk for the gap (near zero hopefully).

Trough - Lowes/HD ~$60
Quick cut rental - ~$80/day
Corrugated black pipe + pop up ~$100 ( I don't know how far it has to drain - assume 100')
Or use white PVC pipe, Schedule 20? 40? Can't remember which. ~$150
Disposal of cement ~$40
Caulking ~$15

$215 - $265 in material and rentals.

Charge to a customer - $800-1500 depending on location

Probably the wrong term, but I was referring to the dropped section that is lower than the actual garage floor.
I was guessing about a grand for the job.
I will probably widen the drive at the same time. The goal is to prevent any water from getting in.
