This has been ask but I have yet to see the answer I’m looking for on the forums. Honestly still reading through them all. Most all do it for insulation. Here in Houston, Texas I don’t need it.
What I want to know is will studding out walls inside the pole barn give it any strength for let’s say if these poles do rot ( which is a hit or miss from what I can tell from people. Some say the poles last decades , some folk say they lasted 7 lol. Idk. ) ..so will studding out make this thing beefy and no need to worry about rot as much. ?
I was thinking of do a 6” or so green board on the bottom plate so It covers the outside green plate( the one they used to pour the concrete parameter to) to 3” over on the concrete enough for me to drive bolts into. Then take the studs up to the top.
My pole barn is 40x50x12 with a 10ft lean to the length of the 50. It has hardi on the outsides , tyveks and Hardi. 6x6 post every 10ft with
It’s pretty beefy as is. But before I really get setting up the inside I want to have this question answered best it can be.
If I can add pictures When the forum lets me.
Thanks all,
Kyle
