I sure could have used them then ...I almost went out and bought a few,,
Yay now I just need some 3/4” pipe
My pops had these for years,,

Nice, I love those 'pipe clamps'. I have a few in my workshop, they are one of those things seemingly never sold or seen this side of the Atlantic and are a point of interest to visitors here..

Sears didn't make anything, they just sold stuff. Most of the old clamps I find are either Jorgensen(Adjustable, Pony) or Brinks & Cotton. Pony pipe clamps used plate dogs to lock the moveable head whereas Brinks & Cotton used a spring lever. I would guess they were made by Brinks & Cotton for Sears.

Coincidentally I was just cleaning up some old pipe clamps last night; they look exactly like the ones in the picture, and have the letters B C stamped on them.

About 1979, I bought a new Sears Craftsman 12" 240 V radial arm saw (RAS). When I bought it, I already had some of these and bought some-more. I still have 'em, and I think I still have one pair in that box. I used them to make exterior doors out of rough-cut cedar, and to make small tables of rough-cut cypress and smooth cedar for gifts. They have proven to be very-durable, and I also used them to make a mahogany 8 ft dia hot tub.

What do people use for long clamps "over there"?

I think I’ll pick up a cheap HF pipe threader, and make my own rails.
I checked the $ at HD and Low`s ..$14. For a 36” pc of 3/4”
For that price I can get a 6’ stick, cut it up and make 3-4 pieces.
I just ordered a few additional head units from Amaznnnn..

Mostly they use Sash Clamps, but they're expensive. DIY people often improvise with rope, ratchet straps, wedging bits of wood against the wall, and that sort of thing..
