For clarity that tray has removable dividers and those magnets on the back you'd see on one of those HF trays or paper towel holders. Oh - and HD has the paper towel holder, and magnetic socket trays too in the same **** pile.

Feel free to post something u think is worth buying.. or don't..

Are the magnets any good on the tray? Looks like you could put it in a deep drawer for holding small ****.

Eh... i mean they SEEM strong enough.. i wouldnt go trying to hold 5 pounds of **** on the thing.. i bought it for my truck at work. There’s a metal cabinet between the bucket seats, that has a hinged lid. I figure i can keep things like keys, chargers, case for my phone, and some other little **** in it, without having to lift the lid for the cabinet to get at little stuff.. even if i just throw a 4” tall piece of pvc pipe in one compartment to make it into a pen holder - itll do what i need.

Oh - i wonder if a coffee cup will fit in it.... lol

Sounds ideal for that. I'm thinking air tool accessories and such would be a good use for me.

The magnetic drawer dividers Home Depot has in that same holiday type display are really nice. Best I’ve ever used. For what it’s worth Menards has the same socket adapter set for $3

I mean really - worst case you can buy 30pound pull, 65pound pull magnets from Home Depot or HF (the disc style that come half wrapped in metal, with a hole in the center for a bolt) and add you own magnets to the thing if it wasnt strong enough for really heavy stuff..

EC70-ABC3-B0-B7-4-BB2-ACAB-B62673-BABF2-D.jpg

Right now it comes with those rubber coated magnets like are on these things - so it wont scratch any paint on a toolbox or tool cart

I snagged the Husky impact adapters also. They are some of the beefiest ones I have seen, interested to see how they hold up. Don't have much use for the long extensions but who knows.

+1 to the $30 pack of Diablo recipe saw blades as well!

Another good deal right now is their 30 piece Husky ratcheting wrench set for $60. If you were to buy their respective sets individually (The Metric, SAE, and stubby), you’re looking at over double the price. Damn fine deal.
Also, I really like their flat ratcheting end that you just flip over to change direction. That style is not for everyone, but it’s worked well for me.

I got the 6pk Husky long/short adapters early this year, but with a narrower holder piece. I think you'll get good life out of them; mine are just fine so far with a 1/4" Fuel impact. driver.

I still wanna know how anyone get lug nuts loose with one of those though.

Honestly haven't even held the husky, but what you have there seems like a rail instead of a tray. My ASSUMPTION is the husky just uses magnetic socket retention, while that rail uses ball detents. I think it would be a question of how much socket retention you need/want. I mean, I didn't buy the husky, so I'm just guessing - but I don't know if it's the kinda thing you would wanna 'throw' in a bag and hope it keeps all the sockets in there. It looks like it's more of a - stick me in your tool cart, and you can pull sockets out quickly but still be organized kinda thing.
Really the best thing to for you to do is look at it in person if you can, and see if it gives you a good impression for the use you like to employ. Price seems cheap enough to buy on and try em out, since the HF stuff ain't going anywhere.

I think I'm gonna be picking up that tool holder, myself. If I can rig that up inside one of the fiberglass utility bins in my work truck, and hold a drill, impact driver, impact wrench - it'll make grabbing tools for a quick use much easier.

Also - I bet most of this $10 stuff with be $7 after Thanksgiving or closer to Christmas. $20 will prob go-to $16.. but you're taking a chance of waiting. No telling when it gets sold out.

There's also a great extension and swivel set for 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 sockets - for like $20 floating around too. I bought that last year or 2 years ago. Great buy for the $$

Thanks.

I want either magnetic or solid rail for my tool cart at home. I have a shelf liner, but don't like the loose sockets on the top, fixed drawer to keep falling every time I open or close a drawer. My choice so far is the HF detent balls on rail and the magnetic one you listed. I hate the cheapo, $.99 socket rails that lack detent balls and instead have bent metal that you have to force the sockets on:

https://www.harborfreight.com/3-8-eighth-inch-socket-rail-39722.html

My other need is something for my junkyard visits. My Craftsman Evolv impact socket set is perfect on the plastic rail that came with the set; it lacks detent balls, but has a circular male connection shaped in two semi-circles. Any ideas for rails for the 3/8" sockets, which I just have loosely placed on a magnetic parts tray? The magnetic parts tray and a magnetic socket rail would tend to grab other metal tools in the tool box I carry to the junkyard.

Last week, I talked to a Home Depot employee who said very confidently that Home Depot already has its Black Friday prices available and done so since early November to avoid the Black Friday rush. I'd like to believe him, but I'm also going to watch for sales.

That said, I'm going to check out the $10 rail in person.

Would you let me know the part number for that extension and swivel set?

I stand corrected.

I can't find my post, but yesterday I reported that a Home Depot employee told me that ALL of their Black Friday deals are already available, starting around November 1, 2019.

In truth and fact, Home Depot WILL have special Black Friday deals. I just received an e-mail from them giving a sneak preview.

Gorilla work platform $24.88

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gorilla...-with-300-lbs-Load-Capacity-GLWP-47/305590237

Pretty sturdy, legs actually have a latch pin to keep them in the open position (no leg flopping closed and tipping/collapsing the step/platform as you are standing on it). Folds up pretty well.

Handy carry handle.

I have an older (couple years ago) similar one. That one is also handy, but is heavier and bulkier and has different and not quite as secure leg locks (I went back and looked).

You're not. These extensions are for impact drivers, not impact wrenches.

I had 2 of those in my cart, but put them back.. its hard to leave something like that behind at that price, even if its a “i might need it one day” purchase.

For the longest time my store always had those same 2" wide 27' ratchet straps for only $10 everyday. Most people didn't even know they were there.

I would buy them to flip on my summer flea mkt tool table making a fast $5 on every one

Best price was ever was at TSC last year they were just $7.50 each...

Now I'm doubling my money :lol_hitti

The milwaukee hats were on sale for like $14, down from $25 i think.. that morning, it showed 70 in stock. I put it in my cart online to pick up in store, decided not to bother.. wound up going to HD after work anyway “just for contractor garbage bags for home”. Was like ‘**** it’ I’m getting one anyway.. ALL GONE... it was the only empty display i saw there.

Oh - but i did get the cheap $9 milwaukee sunglasses while i was there.. i have no idea what happened to the pre orders i bought.. things still haven’t shown up.. wondering if the are waiting to ship after Black Friday.

After school, I stopped by Home Depot and evaluated the 13" magnetic 3/8" and 1/2" drive shallow socekt tray, #1004323006. The magnet was VERY strong, attached through its box to the next tray in the rack. However, for $17.98, I didn't think it was a good deal.

Here's a Harbor Freight Magnetic Tool Holder for $4.99 before 20% off coupon (or 30% off when that offer comes up):

https://www.harborfreight.com/18-in-magnetic-tool-holder-60433.html

I'm thinking that I don't need side protection, but protection from my sockets falling down from the top, fixed part of my cart, when I open and close drawers below.

I suppose the HF would work to keep the sockets in order when carrying them in a container to and from the junkyard.

Thoughts about this?

I have that magnetic bar. You’ll prob need two of em. I dunno.. if the sockets are to be sticking to the bar on their sides, wont they just roll back and forth? They aren’t incredibly strong from what i remember. I might be wrong though. Guys use em to hang wrenches sometimes ive seen. I have one on its side in the front of my tool cart drawer, and one against the back of the drawer. Combo wrenches (metic closed end touching front of drawer SAE closed end touching rear) stored on their sides, alternating front/back - all touching each other.. its like a self sustaining wrench rack.

That whole clump of wrenches on the right are all magnetically sticking to each other. But you can easily rotate one up and out, and the others dont move. These are not tools i use much..

These aren't in stores at the moment, but can be delivered to store for pickup. I bought six or seven sets last year just for the flex light. That flex light is one of my most used lights. So glad when I saw them back in stores as years ago I had purchased just one of them, absolutely loved the light and wanted more as backups. Totally worth the $10 to me.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Defiant-LED-Penlight-and-Mini-Flex-Light-Combo-3-Pack-16FL0920/301753548

Harbor freight has a newer model of that Braun led light they copied from Astro (I think) - where it now takes different heads instead of only having that hinged led panel. One of them is a flexible inspection head light that.

Those Milwaukee winter hats are sweet. Much warmer that the standard Carhartt hats as the cover your ears better and are thicker. I picked up 3 for XMAS gifts.

There are 2 different models of Milwaukee hats in HD right now. The Beanie one ( the one that doesn't have the cuff around it) is prob what he's talking about. The other one (for $14) is similar to a Carhartt style.
