Don, a visit to your thread always makes me smile. I am becoming jaded because I no longer need a strap to hold my jaw up. I have come to expect the WOWs whenever you post. Please forgive me for not posting a huge thank you as often as I should.

Don you need to get some spare jacks and fix up like that. I’m sure they’d sell. Beautiful.

Can’t wait to see Don Wayne walking along the boardwalk, tipping his hat at the ladies.

DON: while I know you personally don't probably need the rain I heard it's been since JULY that you had any so guessing your farmers and maybe the whole state could use some.

WESTERN TOWN is looking great.

are you really going to use your Blackhawk jack to lift your Model A or B or T?

enjoy your day!!

Looks like it really is coming together.

I like the look.

Thanks casmurbax
What you see is only a small portion of what I have planned for my town.

Looking great Don.

Thanks Simon
I have 14 days invested so far

The rain was a hoax. It rained about 2 hours total in the last 2 days. Just enough to clear the air and only dampen the ground a bit.
I've been working in the party garage hanging Christmas lights and ornaments for the partys scheduled starting the first week in December.

I have found a little time for some shop time today and got the jack handle painted silver. Yes I am thinking of displaying the jack in the 30's garage under the roadster.

:wtf: Are you serious Don! You have all that done in just 14 days. OK I know you are not working on it on your own but I have to say that is pretty good.

You are right Simon. I have Jose my gardener and he is not working full time with me. He still spends minimal time keeping up with the yard but most of his time working is spent with me. I also get a buddy or 2 drop by for a few hours now and then but that is more of an interruption than good help. I do get some saw time from Pat the guy living in the barn. He's good for 3 or 4 hours on the chop saw cutting 2x4's
The wood we are using for the exterior was denailed and washed prior to our starting this project

DON: that jack under your car with the Blackjack stands under the frame will look so COOL no wonder you thought of it.

yep it's hard to believe it's only been a couple weeks since you started the WESTERN TOWN cause you've done other things during that time too.

keep it up and hope you get at least one rest day this weekend to re charge so to speak.

cheers (yep i'm tipping my cold mug of ice tea at you sir as i'm sending this)

I agree that the finished jack looks great and is displayed perfectly with that roadster.

Bears Fan, never fear, the Lions play you again next week and our ever bumbling team always finds a new and inventive way to lose in the 4th qtr.

Those jack stands I found last year and discovered them on a shelf while looking for some other parts. When I rediscovered them I knew they would go good with the jack that was under construction so while I waited for the chrome for the jack I gave them a quick once over.

Awesome job on the jack :pimpflash

That jack is amazing. You need a cushion in between! It is a jewel.

Never fear AZ
I had a towel on the jack to lift up the roadster for the J.stands to hold it up and removed it for the display.
Thanks for your concern and the visit.

The 66 sign will go into the party garage outside the parking structure where the yellow and black visible "Poly" pump is standing now. Much like the Standard sign is standing to the right of the pump.

Don, always has to come up with new ways to show us his jack offs.

Another great project, shop is looking great as usual.

Not worried about someone trying your jack out while it's under the car?

Don: WOW that Blackhawk jack is AMAZING and with the jack stands underneath your cool ROADSTER it looks even better. WELL DONE SIR!!

so now another big sign restoration and since you already have a restored gas pump where the sign is going i'm guessing the pump has another spot cause i'm pretty sure once an item comes into the PARTY GARAGE it never wants to leave?

best of luck with all the CHRISTMAS PARTIES and hope you manage to have a little fun and find some good conversations during your busy month.

cheers (as I tip my cold mug of ice tea your way)

all the best and hope everybody that is seeing your place for the first time loves it as much as we all do.

I landed in the hospital with heart problems so my projects and parties were slowed down a bit.
I think all is well now but I am not supposed to do anything for a month or
so but we are still hosting the fort Erwin (Army base) toy drive party tomorrow night with about 350 guests expected.
The garage is all set up and ready for the event and I'm tired but happy that we are ready and not having to hustle around tomorrow

This is not good news. Hopefully you can slow down a little and relax at the party. I wish at times I was closer so I could help out.

Don, I feel your heart problems. It seems the days you feel better you try to catch up for days you don't, then you end up, down for doing too much. Vicious circle. The one thing you have over me is the California weather. Man when it gets cold here in Kansas I can't go out cause I catch P new moan ya. Then I have to stay in for a week or so. Then because its cold I can't go out to the barn and work on my stuff. Then after being cooped up for the winter, I loose a couple months of my life doing almost nothing.
But I'm sure you are thinking about some project that needs to get done as soon as you get feeling better. Anyway, thinking about you and prayers to you and ALL.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I'm trying to take it easy, but that ain't easy.
The annual toy drive Christmas party was last night and everyone had a great time. We had over 300 guests. By the end of the evening we had gathered enough toys to fill a 26' trailer FULL of bicycles (50) and toys of all kinds we also filled 2 pick up full of toys and jackets. At 7A.M. this morning it all headed to Barstow to the army base.

My phone got crushed against my keys in my pocket the other day so my pictures don't look to good but here are some shots from the party.

The food line went pretty quickly with a variety of pot luck foods to enjoy

2019-12-14 18.02.23 by don long, on Flickr

We had plenty of sweets on hand

2019-12-14 18.02.47 by don long, on Flickr

We also opened the Ice Cream parlor for business

Here is a shot of the outside of the garage. You can see the trailer that we filled with the toys

2019-12-14 20.00.51 by don long, on Flickr

The party broke up around 9 P.M. and a few good folks hung around to help clean up and by 10:30 the garage back to normal.

Every one who came early walked over to the western town to take a peak of the coming attraction and now they are talking about having a summer party with a western theme lol
