I needed a "Snipper" for my "Go Bag"... nothing better than a Wiss USA Made cutter...

I used to believe that about Wiss, but was never impressed with their cutting ability. I found Midwest snips on a random, late night shipping trip. After buying them for a test I found the reviews online and got the feedback on GJ. Apparently I was living under a rock about these. There's definitely something a lot better.

As I continue to blow throw my SYW points picked up this Craftsman Ultimate Collection SAE service set. Should be good for the back shed for my yard equipment which has lots of SAE.

Have to admit, you’re right. Actually very nice! Works much better than they’re Zeal series. Actually night and day difference in feel and “perceived” quality. Completely different product, I really like this.

Can you elaborate on what you like so much about it vs. the Zeal? I though Zeal was supposed to be their best stuff?

I'm not sure if I understand, are you saying Midwest is better?

Yeah, sorry if that wasn't clear. I had never heard of Midwest and bought them on a whim. After finding them quite superb especially compared to Wiss, I ran across the Real Tool Reviews of them and had several GJ members tell me they were far superior as well. Amazing how we find about about things on here that seem to be the norm for others.

Those Genius impact sockets have a good design. Let us know what you think of them overall

Really? What do you like about them? I got a set years ago when Genius first hit the market. I remember the brand Genius only being stamped on about half of the sockets and their walls being on the thick side. They were durable though. I ended up giving them to an apprentice and got something else.

Also got two U Hooks... I need a place to "hook" my CPAP mask on the night stand... Wasn't sure which size... so in typical GJ fashion... I bought two.

You must not have used Malco or Midwest. Channellock is also rebadged Midwest

As I've been told. I have several Midwests in my main box... I was looking for a straight cutter and saw these at TSC and had a $10 off coupon... so half price.

I need to test these new ones with a wiss from thirty years ago too. I still have the receipt... so it could go back.

FWIW. The small u clip is freaking perfect for my CPAP mask.

SK 3870 New Old Stock. Paid $70 which seemed reasonable.

Undercut, shouldered, retaining ring. I was commenting on their design, not quality. Why I asked Yarpo for further thoughts.

No pictures but i went to the new harbor freight near me and got a set of 3/8” drive metric shallow well sockets, some disposable gloves, snap ring pliers with interchangeable tips, and some HSS stepped drill bits to try out.

And the Craftsman Ultimate Collection metric service set. Didn’t really need these but kinda wanted all the Ultimate Collection stuff from Sears’ dying days and have points to blow so what the heck. Only thing I didn’t like was some redundancy with the SAE set if you decided to buy both and the lack of 6 point deep that the SAE set had.

And stamped too! Good design and they're priced well.

I've used the 8, 10 and 13 a bunch, both shallow and deep. No complaints. I've used the 17mm a handful of times on my m12 stubby trying to remove lug nuts but...no luck. After another month or two I should be able to compare then to my others and I'll be able to get a better idea if they'll hold up long term. I dont forsee any issues tho.

Ryobi lazer level. I had to replace my old one. I destroyed it after trying to replace the batteries. Picked this one up at home depot.

He destroyed a Ryobi tool trying to replace its batteries and you want his opinion? On any tool that’d be comical, but the Ryobi almost makes it like he’s trying to be a parody. Lolol.

Why don’t you ask him how well the Elmer’s glue he used is holding up his shower tiles Lolol.

Got them all on AmazonJP. Cost $45.19 delivered for the 1/4 drive.
I’m not sure of their product line up. Try searching Koken USA, pretty sure there is an electronic catalog out in cyberspace.

Amazon.jp is a godsend for buying Japanese products/hand tools. Much cheaper than trying to buy it in the states

I've been eyeing a Koken Z series, or in the states Z-EAL 1/4" metric socket set. $60 on Amazon.jp vs the $85+ stateside

Been really wanting to try these locking wobble extensions from SO. Played around with them this afternoon and first impressions are pretty good. Gave the socket a good pull, and these did not feel like they were letting go any time soon. I wish they offered these in 1/4" drive as well. I own the wobble plus extensions, and would recommend getting those before a set of these.

You're going to love them. I had mine for about a year know and they're my go to extensions.

Was looking for sometime on Ebay for Stanley 750 Sweetheart wood chisels but the price people wanted was only a $30 difference between used and new Lie-Nielsen excellent 750 copies. Went with Lie-Nielsen 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4". Their dovetail saw is next.

I'll probably be using it today. I had an older one, it was blue i think. It lasted for a long time. I tried to replace the batteries but it got damaged in the process. The only thing i don't like about it, doesn't fit in my tool belt.

I finally pulled the trigger on a set of Wera Torx drivers. 11 piece, from T6 to T40. They look and feel really nice. If they're half as good as their hex keys, they'll last me forever. Despite negative reviews here, I ordered them from Chad's, as they had the best price. They sweetened the pot with another $5 off, and free shipping. They arrived without incident in three days.

Just picked up this Wera Zyklop Slim 3/8 ratchet last week, great bit of kit. Usually retail here in UK for £29 ($38 us) and picked it up from Amazon for £9 ($12 us).

Was posted here on the GJ hot tool thread for the UK.

Also grabbed this Autel MaxiCom MK808BT. Was originally on Amazon for £500 ($650 us) and they reduced it for black friday week to £425 ($550 us) and it flagged up that it came with a £70 discount code ($90 us) and also I had another discount code from the Diagnose Dan Youtube channel for £25 ($33 us) so paid in total £330 ($428 us).

Absolute bargain for both.

Took advantage of the no batteries shipped discount tool program Home Depot likes to offer while I was at work last night. Picked them up on the way home this morning. Missing two items they couldn't find in stock.
