Hi guys I am looking into buying a short/ground tracer and a pp.

I already own a fluke DMM and a OTC non led test light etc

I like the idea of buying the pp4 because it has some added features for injectors and the latest ect is the 3000 to help trace

from my research think the power probe is the best brand for this kind of thing. your thoughts into this investment?

I have a PP3 and along with a Fluke 374 & 88 and a basic test light it pretty much covers what I need thus far.

Power probe is the original brand that came out with these tools, I dont know anyone with the Snap-on tool but I doubt it's junk by any means.

Before you buy it, compare the PP3 and PP4 prices and features. If all you are going to do is send power to some loads, get the PP3. The PP3 accessories were way cheaper the last time I checked. If you are actually going to read up on and use all the features, the PP4 may be worth it.

I've used the PP3 before. It's definitely a nice fancy test light where you don't have to second guess your ground. The ability to send power to the load quickly tells you yes it works or no it doesn't.

Thanks to both for reply
I was going to order the master kit which is with accessories and
pp4/ect3000

So price works out as if the accessories are free when bought as full kit $328 canadian

To go for the pp3 kit $170 canadian plus another $130 canadian for the ect3000 kit works out to $300 so same money I can get master pp4 kit with ect3000

The pp3 is what many have and it’s basically the same as the 4 minus the better screen of the 4 and the lack of injector testing .

I do like to use a tool to its max so I would be taking the time to learn its full features for sure.

Honestly, I would keep your money in the bank, your Fluke is a better instrument and already does everything a power probe can do

I've gone through 3 power probes in 10 years, whilst my 20 year old Fluke still works great

I dont know how good the ECT3000 thing is, but I have a device for telecoms engineers that does more or less the same thing for $30 approx

Out of the power probes I have owned I liked the most basic version without a LCD screen the best, simple and intuitive to use, just enough features to make it a must have tool
