Reminds me of a few slitting saws I got. I knew the sizes I was getting in the lot but damn. 6" & 8". I still haven't used them cause I haven't had a need to but really I'm scared to use them.

There's a Youtube channel called "Tips from a Shipwright" where you can see some amazing woodworking from a Zen master in the craft of building and repairing wooden boats.

Anyway, once in a while there's just no other good way to make a certain cut and he picks up "Mister Friendly", a saw blade mounted to an angle grinder.

Mister Friendly's cousin here is only slightly less horrifying.

Oh ****, I just noticed the old worn-down stone used as a spacer, and the fact that it's slightly askew on the bench, implying it's not bolted down, or was moved from its original location because of all the blood splatter... OK, this is probably worse than Mister Friendly.

There's a local taxidermist who has a grinder set up that exact same way. He uses it to carve and cut foam.

Taking OSHA and all the .Gov regs out of the equation I can see a legitimate use for that grinder. Is it safe? No. Is any cutting tool totally safe? No

There's a pretty wide range between "not totally safe" and "likely to kill you".

This falls very close to the latter.

Geez, i'm just imagining walking into somebody's shop and seeing that rig and a bunch of animal carcasses lying around... I'd soil myself so hard, people a block away would need to throw out *their* pants.

Really there should be a carbide tipped blade on that, it would lessen the pain and make a cleaner cut for the surgeons; even the shop cleanup would be less messy.

Agree, this tool is a must for the guy who has everything. Nothing like shredded human tissue sticking to the garage ceiling and chromed parts.
