Hey guys. I have a reddy heater 155dt. I cleaned out the photocell, checked the jets, and it will run for about 5 minutes before it will shut off. I can hear it start to slow down before it dies. I let it sit, still powered on, but it won’t light up again. I’m not sure what else to do or check. Any ideas? Tips? Thanks

Did you do a SEARCH on here yet?
Usually REDDY Heater threads don't show up till January!
Anyways I had one that was "spasdic" like that.
I seem to remember replacing almost all the regular maintenance items before knuckling under and replacing the Transformer?

Hey guys. What’s up. Little update, I took everything apart to start cleaning it. After getting it all sparking clean and whipping/ cleaning all the dust off I made sure that the air filter was clean, the jet wasn’t blocked, etc etc... I had to replace the glow plug due to breaking it, the control board, and the photo cell. After putting it all back together, I started it back up and it ran ok with the top cover off. Didn’t really test it too much longer, turned it off and put the top cover on. It ran for about 15 seconds and would shut off throwing a big white cloud of I burnt diesel. I tried adjusting the air thingy on the back and it didn’t made a difference. Any clues or tips?

Have you replaced the filter in the back ? Not the foam one but the one where you remove the screws around the cover where the foam filter fits in ? Mine kept doing what yours is doing until I replaced it f175dd79782554d61133d5e52eccb204.jpg

Picture I took from the link that was earlier posted in the thread

Hey guys. Me again... as it reaches 10 below here in northern wi it’s getting very frustrating that it just ain’t running right. I replaced both filters. Fuel fitter. Photo sensor. Control board. Glow plug and just put new fuel in it. It doesn’t wanna run just right yet. It will run for about 1:30 or so minutes and shut off. I’ve played with adjusting the knobs in the back and I think I’m getting close but it still kills itself and it won’t start back up with out me turning it off and back on. It’s a reddy heater 115dt. If you guys have an idea on what the knobs should be at and why it’s not starting back up that would be great!!

Also is the photo cell in line good with the hole it looks thru. I have also seen some that the photo cell peep hole is too small and need drilled out to the next biggest size. Also like the fellow above me said it could be the pump getting worn out. Best way to find out about the pump and it’s setting is with a pressure gauge. A 115k I believe should be at or around 5psi

Howdy guys. Well bad news. Still not working. I got the pump running at 5psi, new air cleaner, new fuel and filter. New a lot of stuff. But still won’t stay running. I tried cutting out the thermostat to see if that would help. Which it did but now it runs for 2:30 and shuts off. Any clue. Getting really annoyed with the time and money I’ve stuck in this thing. Should just bought it new ****♂️****♂️

See how long it will run with the top cover removed while in a lighted area. I have seen several of these not working properly because the photo cell not seeing enough flame ( light ) and people fixing it by drilling the hole out a little bigger that the photo cell sees through.
