Brahma Boots Quality and/or Value?

I need a pair of general (hiking, garage, yard, semi-daily) usage boots. I was in Wal-Zoo the other day and saw their Brahma boot display. There is a model (Brock) that looks like it fits what I’m looking for and fits into my budget for them. I already have a pair of steel toe boots so for this pair the composite toe would be good as it is lighter. They look pretty decent for the price.

My questions are: does anyone here have experience with that boot or Brahmas in general? Are they made well; last long, fit well/comfortable, a good value?

Thank you.

Never used em but boots are an area that can mess you up if you go too cheap. Mess your feet/ back up

I used to wear them until I got a good deal on my first pair of red wings, I don't think I would ever go back. I wear boots hard, brahma's lasted about three months a pair, red wings lasted a full year plus. During that time they fit better, although the initial break in was brutal.

I have tried a few things from Walmart. In my old age  value plays a big role in certain consumables like blue jeans and work boots.

I steadily buy one style the Brahma workboot Defenders are the model I believe, and in general I get a full work season out of them with my outdoor job. I normally replace them about once a year usually Just before Christmas. I easily destroy a pair of work boots annually, and getting them wet is the biggest issue is how I ruin them.

I have found other similar styled leather upper insulated waterproof brands for 3x times the money don't last me any longer.

Also had a pair of their Herman Survivors hunting boots a goretex type line 600 insulated gram rubber bottomed with nylon uppers that I really like for while but were pretty much junk and didn't last all...lugs on the soles wore right down smooth with little use and the rubber all cracked I wore them to work on our first big wet snowfall this year and found that out because my feet were wet Some shoe goop took care of it for the season but they are pretty much trash now. Conversley there I still have a pair of Sorrel boots leather uppers/rubber bottoms I bought decades ago that haven't given out yet.

Some Ozark Mountain hiking style boots were pretty decent lightweight and stylish got my moneys worth again only a one season boot at best with steady constant wear .

YMMV

I've had their winter work boots and a pair of their lower cut hiking boots. Work boots were great...fit well, comfortable, soles lasted well and I wore them year round. They made it maybe 8 or 9 years before the sole split while I was kneeling. Bought another pair a few weeks ago and they are just as comfortable. We'll see how they last.

The hiking style boots on the other hand...sucked. They were comfortable on the feet and fit well but started falling apart easily not long after buying. Bad stiching, cheaper material and the soles on mine were hard as a rock which made wearing them for more than an hour or going for a walk very uncomfortable.

I also have Merrell hiking boots and will likely buy another pair soon. Super comfortable, well built, great on the trails, hunting, or even rough terrain. Got them on sale for under $50...well worth it for my feet and ankles comfort.

I have pair, I'm not a boot guy so they've lasted me the last 2 years. The cardboard material under the soles is starting to fall apart but they fit well and are comfortable.

20 years ago I got a pair, they were damn nice. ever since wheniever i checked they got cheaper and cheaper. if you want a decent boot the cheaper end is timberland pro..

Im on my feet all day every day 10-12 hours, I only wear merrill hikers with their good insoles. My feet hurt with the timberlands even with better insoles

I’d skip them. I found them to be less comfortable and less durable than better brands.

I’ve had decent luck with Wolverine Multishox.

Others I’ve liked have been:

Timberland boot company (not the regular lines, the super expensive in the $300 range ones and the styles I liked are long discontinued but the boots have held up for years).

Havana Joe (no longer marketed in the US, but sold as Panama Jack elsewhere) these were made in Spain, I have no idea what the current lineup is but I got chukka boots and they held up a long time.

Danner, Bates, Red Wing, there are probably others which I’m forgetting.

Brahma boots are the worst I’ve ever owned. Immediate jungle rot.

The golden Fox aren't bad for cheaper boots, they also have some Made in US boots as well

I have tried a couple pair of their Brahma "Gus" steel toe work shoes. They are about 6" in height and are made of nice black leather. No break-in was required, as they fit Me perfect right out of the box. They are nice enough to use for dress shoes. The exterior holds up well, and they can be cleaned easily. It would sure be nice if the interior of these shoes would last over two or three months. The inner layers will squish down, making the shoes uncomfortable. That is the only complaint I have

I have a pair of their super-cheap style (Raid I think?). They are garbage, but are worth the $20. I've used them for about 2 years to cut the grass, do demo on a house, and wear in the shop. I probably only average an hour or two a week over the time I've owned them. A friend of mine uses the term "sh*t-kickers" for boots like this, and I couldn't recommend them for anything more than that.

I've heard good things about Sears DieHard brand, though.
