So a few years back I purchased 55 acres that ties into some of my property. I've built a cook shed, planted bird fields, and just played around with it mostly. Well my small shop at the house is full and can't hold anymore projects so I'm adding a new shop / man cave / tractor shelter over at my property. I told my wife its a great investment for me and my 3 month old son to spend quality time together growing up lol.

So i'm starting out with a 30 x 35 x 15' building with 2 10x10 roll ups and a regular walk door, will probably include a loft but still trying to work all the planning out about that....

Here are a few aerials of the forms up for the slab waiting to pour hopefully this coming up week

Concrete guy has been backed up. He contacted me over the weekend saying he was going to start Monday. Take into consideration we got about 4" of rain Friday....

So I get a call around 8:30 yesterday morning that the trucks are having a little trouble getting to where the slab is formed up.

All in All the slab was poured and finished after both truck were sunk to the axles and we had to call an excavator to pull them out, along with a backhoe to transfer the mix from the hard pack drive to the slab itself

nothing I do is ever easy, nor simple

I used to work for a company that erected pre-cast concrete bridges. Speaking from experience, when those 6x6 Oshkosh front discharge cement trucks get stuck, they are STUCK. Looking good so far.

few pics of the aftermath, and the finished slab

Excuse the drone photos, I know they're not perfect but that South Georgia wind was blowing pretty good this morning

Finally got the shop up, took a while, still waiting on doors...this every other day rain we've been having hasn't made things easy. Hopefully they'll be up by the time I get back from a work trip this week and I can start on the wiring

Good start. Now the interior work begins. Good Luck:beer:
One question, why did you build where you did and not nearer the tree line? Your driveway will use a mega amount of gravel and base. It looks like you are on arable land.

The land is currently being farmed in front of it but I’m slowly in the process of planting most of it in trees, I didn’t want the shop anywhere that one day I’d have to worry about trees or anything....

The driveway isn’t too bad, hard packed from countless passes, may add some dirt here or there but doubt I use much gravel

Just a little update on the shop, finally got all my conduit run and lights and receps installed. now just trying to find pallet racking for storage on the bare walls and small shelving for the loft for miscellaneous parts and such.

Interior of tool room has been finished and will update with pics when I get back over there.

Now that we've had a break in the rain I was finally able to get my truck into the new shop. One of the main reason to build this shop was my plans to do a Cummins swap on this 95 F-250. My shop at home is 30x30 with one roll up door which mean tying up the whole shop for months had I attempted to do it there. Hopefully I can get this thing knocked out in the next couple of months
