Floor coating used in my shop

I had a lot of questions on what was used. For some reason video links don't show the video in this sub forum. It's been a great coating except for one chip where a race wheel fell over and hit it just right I guess.

Anyone know how to patch it? The chip drives me nuts.

I'm far from an expert (aka novice) but I have seen repairs where some was sanded and chipped away and then recoated. The problem is matching the color is not easy.

That's what I was thinking, similar to a car or any other paint project, my problem has been finding the coating in a quart or smaller size.

With a car they might use a larger area and try to fade the color in a bit but with your floor I do not think you need 100% perfection. If you get close enough color wise few if any people will notice unless staring down looking for it. Since the epoxy can come up make sure you get anything loose around the hole. I say this realizing you already know how important prep is but just in case someone else reads this thread in the future.

Have you asked the people you had install it, that would be my starting point.

It was one of those one off deals where they don't normally work on residential projects but the owner was a car guy I talked to at a car show so he sent his crew out. I didn't wanna bother him unless as a last resort.

Speedy, excellent video and shop. The urethane clear coat was a great idea. It will help protect your floor from chemical attack and the floor will remain glossy for a much longer time. That said, it will not prevent ambering.
It will act like a window, the UV will shine in and hit the epoxy and eventually will discolor it.

However when it occurs there are some options to truly stop this from happening, but for now enjoy it and keep us engaged in your channel.

In regards to the chip scuff a border around the chip, wipe it clean, dab in a small amount of 100% solids epoxy ( our version is SD Epoxy). You can use a green scotch-brite pad to scuff it.

If it’s small call it good, if large than you can clear it as well.
