Hey guys. I just picked up this battery tester and so far I like it. One thing I noticed is it asks for readings in c°. Is there a way to switch to f? And why do they have it set to Celsius anyways?

I just had a quick look at the manual online, and it made no mention of changing the unit of temperature. That being said, whats the problem? The Celsius scale is far superior to Fahrenheit anyway...

I don't read in Celsius [emoji23] just as funny enough I don't measure in metric but couldn't guess as to the size tool in SAE, I grew up on metric tools.

When you press the Menu button, it displays 4 menu items. If you then press the Down arrow button, does it scroll down to a 5th item, named Units (or Unit)? If so, I suspect that's where you change the temperature units.

I looked. There isn't such a menu sadly. It gives "above 0°c" or "below 0°c" as options. I'll just have to remember if it's above 32°f it's above 0°c. Is this tool primarily used over seas?

Well, it a Chinese company, so you using it appears to be overseas.

Curious to know what features may have made your decision to purchase the considerably more expensive FOXWELL than something like the CLORE Solar BA9 or any of the others that were offered as choices? Or was just the name recognization

I think that’s their “example text”. Reading the rest of the manual doesn’t show any of those options

Yeah, I tried my hardest. Unless there's a sequence of buttons, there is no secret menu.

Curious to know what features may have made your decision to purchase the considerably more expensive FOXWELL than something like the CLORE Solar BA9 or any of the others that were offered as choices? Or was just the name recognization

I read a bunch of reviews. I could have bought two of the clore testers, but this one seemed to get the best reviews and did 12/24v. I got it for $120 shipped. I read a few reviews on the clore that said it gave inconsistent or false results.

I have a Foxwell BT705 at work. If i remember, i'll see if I can figure it out tomorrow. Since most of the stuff I work on specs are metric, the temp setting wasn't an issue. It has been my experience here in warm Arizona, that if a battery tester asks for the battery temp, the battery needs to be replaced. Every time one of my techs using a midtronics tester, doesn't replace the battery when it asks about battery temp, the vehicle comes back a day or two later with a failed battery. Your results may vary. The Foxwell BT705 has served me well at work for about a year. It is made for the global market.

I've tried holding the menu button and connecting it. Tried double menu button. Tried the language option. I tried it all lol
