My first garage!

Hey all, been lurking here for ages. Finally got myself a house with a garage. It's not the biggest, 18' wide by 22' garage plus a laundry corner and the AC handler is in there with a vent cut out. It was in rough shape as the previous owner was a "contractor", random wood planks screwed in the wall, stuff everywhere and really not much lighting.

I decided on Garage Flooring LLC TrueLock tiles for the floor. Went with their HDXT coin for the sides and the ribbed flow through for the center.

Forrest Floor carbon wood grain foam for the laundry room side which I will cut to **** up to the garage side flooring

10 Sunco 4' LED shop lights flush mounted on the roof (1 for laundry area and 9 for garage side) These lights rock for the money. I have 4 in my auto shop in areas where the AC units ended up blocking lighting.

Storage I am still undecided between a Husky garage storage setup with one their tool boxes, a New Age Setup plus a tool box to match, or piecing together a HF tool box with their cabinets to match. I will mainly be storing house hold tools and car detailing supplies. I will work on the cars at my shop since all my tools are there along with 7 lifts lol Any storage ideas/suggestions are welcomed.

now for pics!

This is what I had to start with

Then the fiance and I started pulling things down, patching holes, sweeping and then paint.

The lighting arrangement will be like this(the lights will be in the middle of the red portions, I MAY have to swap the middle lights in sideways instead due to the garage door motor. I have 4 currently installed, the other 6 show up tomorrow. BTW the garage floor planners make for a great lighting plotter.

Nice garage, great to have plumbing installed.
No wonder the Fiance has such a huge smile, you can do laundry while on beer break. Maybe she get you a Snap On ironing board:bounce:

Looks like we are neighbors. Congratulations on getting a home w/a garage.

You have a good start.

If you wanted, you could add a bit to your garage door tracks in height, switch to a Liftmaster side-mount, and gain some space in the ceiling area, by eliminating the central motor lift. Here's an example of adding lighting below the garage door, so you have the same lighting whether the door is open or closed.

There isn't much room on the side of the OH door returns for shelving, I dunno if you are planning to add floor-standing shelving, or to hang it off the wall; or if storing vehicles inside the garage is a requirement. I have so-many tools & stuff, the garage is a workshop, not used for daily vehicle storage. Gladiator/Whirlpool makes good steel shelving, easy to assemble, w/high loading capacity, in a variety of lengths and depths. I've bought them at Sears and Best Buy, and of course the big-box retailers have 'em too.

While the room is relatively empty, add some electrical, duplex outlets and 240 volt services. If you plan on using a welder, might as-well add a 6 ga circuit for that so you can run anything from a buzz-box to a transformer, though the inverters aren't as power-hungry. A couple 8 or 10 ga 240 volt circuits should handle any combination of compressors, saws, or other tools you may choose to-add.

Thank you!

Garage will only store one of my cars. The lift-master looks amazing, I will switch to it when I do a new door, I need to get a hurricane impact door asap actually. I wouldn't mind having the lighting symmetrical. When the door opens it only blocks 3 lights.

I plan on just putting one or two cabinets and 44" or so tool box to store basic tools for house hold work. All car repair I do at my shop where all my tools and fabrication stuff are anyways.

Thank you for all the suggestions, much appreciated!

Excellent job.

Thank you!

I washed the car in it the other day, drains well. Stoked to not have to sweat my *** off anymore washing the cars. I can even pull it in further and lower the door to where it still drains.
