I'm interested in buying Metric and SAE sets of Transformer Ratchet Wrenches like shown in the picture.

Transformer Ratchet Wrench Set.jpg

I'm aware of the sets that are sold under the Craftsman name but they include only 6 sizes each.

I specifically want a Metric set with 12 sizes (8-19mm). A set with an equivalent inch range would be nice also. I've found the Metric product available on Alibaba with a 100 set minimum order, but I haven't found a U.S. retailer.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/14PC-Ratchet-wrench-hand-tool-set_62283924785.html?spm=a2700.details.maylikeexp.1.23352ca7njndlR

I've emailed inquires to two (apparently) different suppliers in Taiwan but received zero response.

Can anyone identify a U.S. retailer for the product?

Thanks.

You’re likely gonna have to find someone living somewhere they sell them to ship them to you.

The design is patented and the company that makes them currently deals with Sears. It’s doubtful they’ll send you any. I ran into similar problems trying to get Metrinch copies sent to the US from companies that knocked off the design in countries where the patents and design patents had expired.

One possible thing that may work is trying to contact them not for requesting the whole tool but just replacement heads in the sizes you need for it. If they’ll send you those then buy the Craftsman one.

If you want a better quality version of those Blackhawk/Stanley used to make a set. I would much rather get some double box flex head racthceting wrenches though, these seem rather limited in use.

Thanks for your input.
The Taiwan contacts that I've tried have not responded. I'm not interested in trying to piece a set together. I was hoping that some other tool nut would have seen the set(s) advertised for sale in some flyer, catalog or ???.

Did you check overseas Amazon and such?

Based on your suggestion, I tried Amazon.UK and Amazon.DE with no luck.
There doesn't seem to be an Amazon in Taiwan.

The demonstration video linked above was loaded to YT on Mar 4, 2012.
Maybe those sets have evaporated? The Craftsman branded sets are still available, so I was hoping that the larger kits were available somewhere.

I can only find the SAE sets but they do make a metric set as well.

The company that did the demo video is actually the one that makes the Craftsman ones, I was able to determine that through the bankruptcy docs last year. I went and bought the Craftsman ones at the time I found that in case Sears had liquidated but they had any sort agreement that prevented anyone else from selling them stateside for a period of time.

I think Craftsman made something like that recently, but it was sold in Sears stores and outlets, not at Lowe’s

Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

The Sears one is slightly different, it’s an indexing ratchet combined with a flex head box end ratcheting wrench type end. It’s a great idea and can get some hard to reach stuff.

The problem is the Sears set is missing a few sizes it probably could use at least the metric one. The SAE one has the sizes I usually need for older Ford’s.

Also as opposed to having one kit you have to buy two of them which includes two ratchets and you’ll probably only ever need one.

What are these? And what's the purpose

Watch that YouTube video, it’s the better than any explanation. They took an indexing head ratchet and replaced the ratchet with an interchangeable ratcheting flex box wrench end. You can maneuver it in weird ways around obstructions.
