Too much light can be a bad thing also !

For "detail" work, you really need light from more than 1 angle.

Costco (at least the one near me) has an LED work light similar to the one you showed above made by Porter Cable. I've been pretty happy with it, but I've not tried it for car detailing work.

I have the same light. Worthless if you want set it up higher and aim it down. Only good if aimed straight ahead or up.

Bad design. I don't know if HF's Pics of this light will show it, but the bracket that runs up from the base to the pivot on the body of the light is narrower than the front of the light body. The light body contacts the bracket when you try to tilt the light downward. Up isn't a problem, and it can tilt up 180*. but not down in the other direction either. I should have taken it out of the box before I bought it. I now tilt it up at the ceiling and use it during our many power outages here. Great to light up a room.

This pic will show it. If you sit it on a bench, and try to aim it towards the floor, the light body hits the pivot bracket. It won't point down.

Well lets say I need to get my tractor started in my shed at night without power. I have to lift the hood to work on it. That's about waste height, or a little lower. Putting the light on the floor and aim it up would do nothing except blind me. Putting the light above and shining down on something is much better. You know, like the lights in your garage or house, or a pole light or parking lot etc.
