First farmers market tool finds

Not sure if this is you **** worth but.

Could use tips on how to fix the breaker bar. The ball where the socket goes on is stuck so you can't put a socket on it. I'd really like to use it too.

-pair of dikes
-snap on 3/8 and 7/16 offset box wrench
-snap on hard handle screwdriver
-mac comfortgrip screwdriver (whatever they're called)
-mac 13/16 wrench
-thorsen 12" 3/8 drive extension
-vise grip brand vise grips
-craftsman vise grips
-easco 7/8 1/2 drive shallow socket
-sk 1" 1/2" drive shallow socket
-indestro 3/8 drive breaker bar
-a c clamp

I got all of this for $17. There was one guy with the top name tool brands but he had another hard handle snap on and a tri handle but the tips were very worn. He had 2 foot extensions and stuff but he knew snap on and matco were worth something.

looks like 95% of the tools are nice. especialy that snappy double end box wrench Its got the old style logo thus placing it probably at 10+ years (forgive me snapon gods for I do no know your ways and am only guessing) the screwdrives are nice and the vice grips and the exention are all nice. the only things I would use as throw arounds are the c clamp other than that. clean and oil those babies up and put them in a good home

Yeah I saw the hard handles and the snap on wrench and was excited.

I can't figure out what brand the dikes are other then USA (they are a bit rusty but work great, I'll clean them and see what brand they are.

Soak your ball in oil,tap it with a hammer.Good find.

anytime i see a SO hard handle going cheap i grab them.
SO will replace/warranty blades.

Take some penetrating oil and put it on the ball over night. Then tap it with a punch and hammer.

I put some oil on it for a few hours and i tapped it with a hammer and now the ball sits all the way in. I guess it will reserved for special jobs that I need something to expend.

might try flushing it out with brake cleaner, then some PB blaster, try that a few times and see if it loosens up at all.

sometimes digging through old **** at swap meets and flea markets, i'll find "truck brand" tools. usually rusted beyond recognition or broken. if i can get em for a couple dollars i'll take em, clean them up, and wait for the tool truck.

Yeah that mac wrench I bought was an industrial finish and rusty. The guy took 50cents for it. Best deal I got all day.

It's called a farmers market but there is hundreds and hundreds of vendors that sell everything from tools to video games.

that snap on wrench would actually date back to 50's through mid 60's, there should be a date stamp on it, compare it to the ones on this pic

felt "should" was a fitting word, so far all of the wreches with that handle design that I own have date codes...... anyway,

I never figured out the rhyme or reason behind it, about half the Snap On I come across isn't dated... most of the 50's and early 60's stuff is, and seems like most of the 90's and 2000's stuff is, but even that's not certain.

There was a non spcific time period when snap on actually pushed the warranties ont hteir tolls to say they were "lifetime" and with that in mind, the date code was not needed. this was during the 70's though early 80's. there was not a specific start and stop date for those and even at that... many tools in that time still had date stamps...

chances are your non-marked tols came from that time period.

No problem, if u ever need to find it again, many of us have that same copy, you can right click on the image and save it to your computer also. I personnaly have a copy taped to my tool box at work that I printed.

If you like farmers markets try farm auctions, there ausome. Even if you dont buy there cool just to go hang out and watch.
