I have an older Durex Industrial drill press that I broke the rack on. Where does one buy a replacement for a 30 year old overseas drill press imported by a Quebec company with no documentation? I have attached some pics. Thanks

Pulley, cable, and a counterweight will be a better fix and much cheaper to boot.

Do some measuring and see if it is a standard size. If so, you can buy rack at McMaster.com.

Grizzly is pretty good about selling parts for machines not their own.
Talk to Busy Bee if you are on this side of the border, they might be able to help. They have junk laying around.

As much as I hate to ever recommend McMaster...McMaster
I machine a lot of nylon gear rack for a client, although I get it straight from the manufacturer (Plastic Machining Corp)...but McMaster stocks this nylon rack (as does MSC), so I'm guessing they might have steel racks, too

That's because many Grizzly machines are generic Chicom manufacture just painted green. The one thing G does is check out the machines before selling them and supports them with parts.
So yes, take a run through the Grizzly and Enco web sites. They both probably sold that DP under their label in the same time period as you got yours.

If McMaster doesn't have it, it doesn't exist. They aren't the cheapest but their selection is incredible

I have the same question. My drill press is a Champion Model F003. One of the attached photos shows one of the two broken pieces held up next to the rack on another drill press in our wood shop. Other than a very slight TPI difference, they look identical.
Two questions before I go looking for a replacement rack on a similar model - 1. Are the teeth always angled?
2. Are the specs (TPI, total height, pitch height, width, length, pressure angle) for the rack available from the manufacturers?

I just realized my first question is stupid. Of course they're angled, because the rack is driven by a worm pinion. (I'm actually not near the drill press, as I'm helping someone else try to find a replacement rack.)
