Power Torque 12V Polisher

So was in an Orielly's with my pal getting a new ignition module for his Chevy dump body plow truck that died on him while snow plowing so we could replace it yesterday afternoon at a whopping 14 degrees for the high

Anyhow they had all this Power Torque branding on their stuff (new to me anyhow I don't usually frequent an Oriellys) and though they had other cordless stuff...

The current price on this single 2 speed polisher/sander kit is what really caught my eye.

Was just 69.99 right now and so similar in many respects the other options available the AC DELCO G12 series ARS 1214, Harbor Freight's Earthquack XT and even the Milwaukee 2438 12v

Honestly I just purchased bare tool Milwaukee 2438 kit and though have no regrets if I had seen this deal prior to that I'm thinking I'd have probably grabbed one.

That totally looks like a 2438. If I could fit M12 batts to it I'd get one.

A compact 2.0 is simply not enough to get best results from the 2438, which is what the PT kit seems to come with.

Definitely interested, I’ve been waiting on a decent price on the Milwaukee but have considered the HF one as well

Ya it certainly looks much more like the Milwaukee than it does the AC Delco or its clone the Earthquake.

Seems though except for the Milwaukee -22X kit with a 4.0/2.0 combo for about $200 all the others come with standard with just 2.0 ah. AC Delco 1214 offers a 2 battery kit though

So went looking to see if maybe there was a higher amp hr battery option and XC type battery but didn't see anything like that.

But extra 2.0 batteries are only $25 ea though, and the website shows 3 more 12v tools all as single 2.0 batteries kits and all less than $70 each...a drill driver, a 3/8" drive impact wrench, and a 3/8" cordless ratchet. There is also a USB ported power adapter for just $15 too.

Guess it all depends on what your doing. A single 2.0 probably get you 15 (20 min at best) of continuous run time

Even at 2 dots on a Milwaukee XC 4.0 performance (RPM) of the 2438 falls off noticeably.

I use mine in light production so I'm VERY in-tune with the tool

AVE recently posted a video comparing the milwaukee the the Snap On - and his “review” didn’t fair well for SO.

He said he was going to get the Earthquake and tear that down too - try to figure out if it was actually coming from the same place as the M12.

By looks alone this Power Torque seems to have more in common with the M12 than Earthquake stuff does. Those being clones of the AC DELCO tools

No it wont besides the terminal points being in different locations and the shape of the bottom back of the tool where the battery slides is configured slightly different than the M12

The front edge and squeeze tab do look very similar though

Oh must have overlooked it the first time or it was just added but there is a 4.0 12volt battery available $34.99

After looking I think you’re 100% right. With the price of the power torque vs the earthquake and Milwaukee I am very tempted. I really would like the new m12 die grinder but 169 retail with no battery is hard to swallow.
