Was at OSJL and they had pallets of these 4’ 5000k for $15ea so I bought a case of 3 and put them up in my basement. They are linkable and I’m pretty impressed with the color and diffusion for a $15 light, the only down side is they appear to have surface mounting slots but no holes to utilize them. Next I’m putting up a few in my shop with 10’ ceilings to replace some 8’ t12.

Should be instruction included on how to surface mount using the preformed t slots and screws

Instructions only show the chain hangers. There’s the slots but even if you did it blind like a picture frame the slots are in opposite directions with now way to tighten them after. I could drill holes in the face plate and the back to make the slots functional but I haven’t taken one apart to make sure I wouldn’t be drilling through a board or wires in the end caps

My part number is slightly different than that one you show though 48-401-50

The light has 4 T slots...2 in each end

The provided instructions show mounting 4 screws 46 1/2" x 3.189" apart with a .140 head exposure from flush to ceiling

then you just slide the fixture on and secure it from moving with small set screw

I read the part where you say your slots are headed in the opposite directions? That is weird.

Just for clarity I attached photos of mine

Opened a new box and this one is the same but the holes are actually in the mold (would have had to drill the slots) and pointed in the right directions. So your supposed to hang these in the slots but not tighten them down? What keeps them from sliding off?

Tension, or friction.

You run the screws into the ceiling just far enough to allow a bit of tension/friction on the slotted holes as you push the light fixture onto the screws. That will keep them in place.

The picture you have shown suggests that you can use a chain to hang those lights. The holes to the right of the slots appears to be spaced at the correct distance to allow you to install an "S" hook thru the slot with the tip of the "S" coming out thru the hole.

Then you can hang the light fixture on chains.

It's recommended you set a small screw into the ceiling just beyond the end of the fixture to stop it from sliding
