Looking for an oil can that does not leak

I am looking for an oil can that does not leak and that does not require re-priming every time I use it. I want it for general lubrication plus for tapping fluid.
I am sick of picking up either can and finding a puddle or rim of oil where it had been standing and secondly having to give 1-3 squirts before oil actually comes out of the tip.
Surely somebody must know of a better oil can ?

Currently I have left the tapping fluid in its original bottle because it is clear plastic and when you invert it you can see the oil is right at the tip so a little squeeze and you have the first drops. I would like to be able to do the same with an oil can instead of the pre-squirts to prime it.

Does anybody know of a source ?

I bought one today from Tractor Supply Co for tapping fluid. Too soon to comment on durability, of course. But it did work without priming it. Time will tell.

I just ordered a pack and will give them a try. Thanks for posting. [emoji106]

You're welcome.

If anyone orders those bottles from HD for in store pick up, open the box to examine the contents. Although offered as a 2-Pak, they come as singles and the order picker's instructions are not explicit enough. Had to reorder and go through the refund BS a couple of times to get the needed quantity.

Good advice. I should know better but I often forget.

Very interesting post, I have bought old oil pump cans from garage sales, new cans, cans from tractor supply, msc, etc. and they all leaked.:eek:

From expensive to cheap I never got smart out of it... Never tried an all brass can or stainless steel can I wonder how well they would hold up?

This is interesting. I always felt If I had a can that dont leak I was happy. having to prime it 1 to 3 strokes was the norm.

I’ve had this pumper oil can forever and while the body doesn’t leak it always drips from the end or the flexible spout. Very annoying.

This is what I use for drilling and tapping. With the use of the plastic tube (missing in photo) it’s so easy to apply a small amount accurately.

These little guys are my all time FAVE. They NEVER leak as they have been empty for years. [emoji1]

If there is one out there, I haven't found it. I have tried eagle 88's, squirt bottles and countless oilers I have bought new and used. They all either leak, or drip from the tip and run down the body(or trigger) and end up being covered in oil anyways. Some even leak from the base, even though its not crimped but a solid base.

You would think there is some company out there that would just make a nice one, not out of cheap *** stamped steel. Grease guns are the same way.

Reilang makes on of the better ones. I've had one for years and it is just good. For dispensing tapping or cutting fluids then a brush or a small plastic squeeze bottle that I get at the hobby store. They sell them for dispensing glue or glitter for the artsy crowd.

I am going to order 2 x R004-313 Reilang oilers. This is the double pump unit and it looks like it has a non return bearing on the bottom of the inlet tube so maybe no leaking and priming required. Really really expensive but this problem has been bugging me for 40 odd years so hopefully worth it.
