Thanks Zestomite! Went in to my local store today to pick up the Dremel kit I ordered online and it had clearly been used and returned. Mgr offered to sell it for $15 so that made it an even sweeter deal.

Thanks to this thread and the heads-up from another member, I was able to get the jack shaft door openers that I posted about last week! I had found them marked clearance but not actually discounted (399.00) and asking if anyone saw them cheaper elsewhere.
Scav messaged me that he had discovered them in my region for HALF-price!
And they will ship. These are reasonably close so I’ll pick them up.

By ship, I assume you mean delivery. If it's actual shipping share the store. I see they are $199 in Abilene, but only truck delivery

Thanks. Truck delivery is within limited range of the store. Shipping is country wide.

Maybe this understanding should be revisited; I don’t know what the rules are but I had previously checked the “delivery” offered from Jasper, about 100 miles.
Just now, to explore what you said, I searched for the same item at some distant stores. I’m in Texas. I can get the same item “delivered” from Miami Florida OR Bloomfield, Connecticut via Lowes page. For $65. What am I missing about the ‘limited distance’?

You have to put your address in at checkout and it will say you are too far away for delivery.

Edit: looks like they updated some stuff and delivery will switch to the closet store price. Price changes to local price when I try delivery instead of $199.

Edit: Sorry, guys, I was confusing Lowes and Home Depot, it's actually HD where the zip code trick works for delivery. Sorry for the confusion

(IF your local stores do not have stock.

If you order from a distant store for delivery, AND your local stores have stock, the system will accept the order at the original store and price but it will deliver from the local store.

The delivery charge is usually too high to make it worthwhile though. I recently bought some LED shop lights for around $8 delivered, but $4 of that was delivery. Net price was still a good price, but usually the mark down is not enough to offset the delivery cost.)

I tried all the ways and found that yes, it defaults to the local availability and price. So, If the item is actually NOT available anywhere close by, then the “ship to home” becomes available.

I tested this by selecting something that wasn’t stocked in my region (snowblowers) and “ship to home” was available and “delivery” was not.

I can buy for pickup (which I did) and drive there to get that price OR if I select “delivery” they’ll charge $65 for one (or $85 for two) to deliver them, but the price goes back $400 each. Plenty of incentive to spend a Saturday morning driving to get them.

That's a good tip. I DID call them and confirmed those points. I also went ahead and ordered a third unit.
My shop has three big doors, two are high-lifts and require the jackshaft style openers. The third door could use a standard trolley opener but for the small difference in price (at this sale price) I can simplify my wiring and conduit runs by just mounting the two jackshaft units together. Simpler and cleaner install and less stuff hanging out in the overhead area.

Well I feel like there must be some location with them. I’ve tried a whole bunch of locations, can’t find the item in stock anywhere but the “ship to home” is available so there’s stock *somewhere* but no matter where I try to order from the price goes up to 39 bux

I have this charcoal. Bought it the last time it was on sale. It's good in my opinion. It lights quick, burns a decent amount of time and adds good flavor. Only downside is it's everything from big chunks to little bits. I ended up adding a screen to my chimney starter so the little stuff wouldn't fall through while lighting. Works great now.
