Pretty excited (though I've been pondering selling it) but i found this new old stock set of USA impact sockets. They were quite dirty. Either on the shelf for years or what i think, they've been in the back and then were found.

There was an Ace hardware nearby that had tons of Craftsman USA stuff. Last time I was there they still had there locked glass cabinet filled with them, they even had the first gen raised panel ratcheting wrenches, loose sockets and wrenches that were US made and impact socket sets likes yours. They’re definitely out there, but nice find!

I'm jealous that's awesome!
That's where I found this. I was shocked because I haven't seen USA made impacts in years, and then here's this dusty thing.
I also picked up some missing USA sockets that I needed.

Nice find!
At first, I was going to attempt to fill my toolbox with NOS Craftsman stuff, but the prices on ebay were ridiculous and they are even more outrageous now, even for used stuff. Got Williams for way cheaper, and was brand new from the manufacturer, not resold.
ANd I was checking out your junkyard site. Cool stuff. Looks like you haven't gone in a while though.

Nice find. I found a set of USA craftsman metric combination wrenches at Ace last year.

Last I saw was when I found a brown cardboard box with a plastic bag of sockets at the Sears outlets about 2 years ago. The box had a plain white label with the sizes. I’d guess it was sent to the store to use for returns. Bought the two they had.

Kinda why I'm thinking of selling em (more money to buy more tools)
And thanks! Kinda forgot about that site. But the biggest reason is before I used to live in Central Phoenix, where junkyards were only a stone's throw away. Now I live further out in Metro Phoenix and its a bit of a drive. I also have a newer car which means less reasons to go. haha. But I have thought about posting more again.

Nice, haven't found any USA wrenches in a while. And that includes when Sears was still around.

Yeah well my area had 2 Sears, 1 Sears outlet, and 3 Ace hardwares so I’m sure there was a lot of new old stock being passed around. But I think 1 Sears is gone and the other got reduced to a much smaller size.

And as someone else said I found a huge lot of craftsman usa impacts at Sears outlets. Cardboard box with sizes on top. Most were in 1/4 drive though but they had at least 30-40 sets.

But if you don’t need the sockets sell them, it’ll make someone happy. It’s really not worth it to pay for craftsman USA stuff when you have Williams USA or Sk tools to choose from.

Local ACE still has their last set of USA made SAE Deep 1/2" Impacts hanging on the wall next to all the import replacements.

I doubt they were returns, or at least retail returns. There were at least a dozen of those boxes at my local Sears outlet a couple of years ago. Standard and deep and different drive sizes. Not much metric, though.

I didn't need any impact sockets and I wasn't impressed with the price.

The Sears outlet stores carried alot of made in the USA Craftsman during the transition from US to Chinese production.

Went into the Ace I used to work at today and they told me that they're dropping Craftsman tools and going to Milwaukee tools.

Also getting rid of Valspar paints (Lowes will be the primary seller) and getting in Benjamin Moore paint. FYI.

That kind of sounds like the unused 3/8ths ratchet/socket set that we found in my grandfather's garage after he passed. It was a plain white box with a label, had a sheet listing the set contents and his original receipt dated 1980 I believe.

no surprise. everybody and their brother are selling cheap chinese cman **** and guess who the only ones who carry open stock are........

too bad they are going milwaukee. it seems to be decent stuff but overpriced. i think gearwrench or dewalt would be a better choice. similar quality at a lower price and available openstock. much more variety as well.
