Schedule 40 pvc conduit to cpvc

I just discovered that my builder stubbed my electrical entry with 1 1/2” cpvc and stubbed my sink drain location with the piece of 1 1/2” pvc electrical conduit I supplied. I can slip 1 1/4” conduit though the cpvc stub and that is the minimum size for my pull. If it is ok to connect the gray pvc 1 1/2” to the cpvc at the floor and under the floor where it will be buried I would like to stick with 1 1/2”

I am sure the inspector won’t be impressed but could he allow such a thing on good grounds? The only property of electrical pvc that I know as different is uv tolerance. In this situation it will be buried or enclosed in a wall.

Why were you using CPVC for a drain? I guess that is why he was confused.

Can you rip out the CPVC where the conduit fits?

Not CPVC, just white pvc drain piping and pvc conduit got switched.I don’t know why I said CPVC.

The electrical stuff/ gray coupling fits the white pvc. I would like to cut the white stuff about an inch above the floor and connect the gray to run up to the panel.

Put a coupling right at the floor go back to grey and nobody will know the difference.

I've used white couplings before. Was underground so no one could see it. 4" plumbing coupling is easier to get than 4" grey electrical.

If it is Schedule 40, then the dimensions are at least the same. But DWV PVC is thinner wall than conduit.

Actually I was using schedule 40, a piece left over from when plumber ran my water line, - - for my drain stub in the concrete. So my thought is that it is probably just as rugged and being only in the concrete intuitively I felt OK to just connect the gray to it but my intuition has had a way of me not recognizing some reason that would be known to the people in the trades so I tread cautiously. Since nobody barfed all over the idea I am going to go with it. thanks for the winks and nods guys.
