I have had an audi A8 wheel for years now. I tried selling it local, ebay and calling wheel distributors. No one wanted it, so it has sat for years. Recently I followed the thread with all the wheel wall clocks and figured I would give it a try. It took two grinding wheels, and the last 1/3 was with a sawsall.

now i just need to figure out how to mount a clock.:pimpflash

WOW that poor wheel. Those are quite popular swaps for other models. Should have gone to vwvortex and sold it there. They are hard to find.... :(

I was thinking the same thing about the wheel. I used to run in the Vdub circles, a few moons ago. I couldnt tell if that was what was called a "fat 5" wheel that also came on the earlier TT coupes and convertibles.

there is an TT wheel JUST like that with a different rim are IIRC. we/I still call them TT wheels, wheel-whores probably would distinguish them better than most.

its actually funny how many popular OEM wheels are mistaken and how many have gained incorrect names.

We had one quite similar at a place I used to work, brought it in on a freight train, had to operate it off a platform with a ladder, no rim jobs though.

we had one about that size in the machine shop i used to work in, used it mainly for cutting crane hoist drums.
i saw one even larger at the old blaw-knox machine shop in east chicago back in the mid 70's, had 60' + bedways, and dual carriages, what a friggin monster :shocking:
