I appreciate all the suggestions! The privacy fence will be tabled until next year, but I think it will eventually work out.

To wrap this up, the wife said to get it off the property so I found an Extra Space Self Storage 10x30 RV spot near the house for under $30/month.

That made her happy and I can focus on other things for a bit.

Camouflage is what is needed here.
Build a "raised garden" just high enough to slip the trailer under it.
Use plastic plants and flowers.
A little creative camo on the ends to fool the eye.
Hey! it worked for the Allies in WW2 before D day.

question> you have a car that you race and the wife has an issue with the pretty trailer?

You could incorporate your trailer into a deck so it was part of the platform
and have seating over the wheel/fender areas.
Remove a few items and pull out your trailer when needed.

A Camaro is like the Falcon - every inch of 16' nose to tail, maybe a bit more. 18' trailer bed is a minimum to position the load properly, IMHO. LOL, try finding a place to park our 34' box with a 54" motor home tongue.

I prefer to have my trailers stolen from the house - use every security measure you can think of at a remote lot. Good way to lose a trailer.

I agree on both points. The Camaro would fit on a 16', but not balanced. I have a coupler lock and there's on site security. I may do a wheel boot.

What's the final solution?

I ran a privacy fence around my backyard with a double gate across the driveway in front of my detached shop. Open gates put trailer in front of shop, close gates, done!

Can't see in unless you walk up my driveway and look over fence...

$30 a month is pretty reasonable if its a secure lot. I would agree that I would add as much security on the remote lot as possible (ball lock, latch pin lock, chains through wheels, etc)

Nice ZL1.
Agreed. I don't think I ever saw a car tied down like that. Does it scuff the rims? What do you tow with, and where's that stored?
Glad you got a cheap temporary solution, but for the amount of money you have invested in these vehicles and wanting to keep them you need to build on.

Thank you. It's a great track car.

They're 8' Mac's Pro Premium tie downs with fleece sleeves. They'll last forever, are extremely strong, and the washable sleeves protect the wheels.

You’ve seen how the U haul trailers tie down ?
With the straps over the tops of the tires ?

You don’t need any excess deck with those
Lots of professional haulers use a similar type strap

And my condolences on buying a house in an HOA

I could never live in an HOA

That was a main consideration when we bought our house,
Had to be a
Large private lot on quiet street with little traffic with plenty of mature hardwood trees and no HOA

Took almost a year to find one in the area we wanted to live in that we could afford, and it was a complete dump, that the city required us to get a letter from
A structural engineer stating “there is no imminent danger to the occupants “

But you can fix up the house, you can’t put 35 mature hardwood trees in the yard .

I sincerely appreciate all of the complements on the car.

Regarding the trailer, I looked at the U-Haul type tie downs and shorter deck trailers.

After speaking with several people that have similar (long, low, and heavy) track cars and tow vehicles (SUV's with low tongue weight,) this made the most sense. It was a compromise. I can use stakes on the sides of the trailer for cargo, which is nice.

Here's a pic from the rear. It's secure.

If you store it remotely, replace those pins on the ramp doors with padlocks so you don't loose your ramps.

For additional security I would remove wheels and store them at home.

Nice car and a nice aluminum trailer

I’d definitely run a chain thru the wheels and a lock on the tongue
And on the ramp doors
And see if it’s covered by your homeowners or auto insurance
