LOL. I don't know that I could ever train myself to use the head of a ratchet for a hammer. It just seems wrong.

I kinda like the second 1, but that first 1 just looks strange. It's a neat concept, but that ratchet head looks huge with the hammer faces on it.

Go stand in to tool department at Sears and watch the returns for a few hours on a Saturday morning. Craftsman ratchets have made excellent hammers for years.

The interactive video on the mfg website is awesome. The attachments, the centering pin, the extension. That tool is really interesting. Far more there than at first glance.

Which style of bits work with the bit ratchet? Any recommendations for a set?

WERA doesn't seem to give a tooth count, but it is a dual pawl according to their images at wera.de

I hate preorders and finding out about things before I can actually get them... I feel like a 9 year old waiting for Christmas.... Where are my new tools??? At least I guess I'll be among the first in the US to see one in person...

How are the bits held in the bit ratchet? Looks like a spring clip deal. I can't recall if ALL 1/4" bits have a groove to accept the spring clip.

If the holding mechanism is anything like mine, which I'm pretty sure it is, you're right.
All the standard length 1/4" bits I own have the grooves in them.

I'm sorry but I don't believe a ratchet should be used / employed as a striking device at all. When people start adding things on to something that has a basic assigned task, not only does it start looking ugly, it enforces others to abuse tools that aren't designed for said task.

Now I know Wera has purposely designed and manufactured this ratchet because there had to be a need, and as one of the GJ members stated Sears has probably warrantied hundreds over the years because those fracking morons had the same thought process and didnt have enough common sense to get up off their sorry aszz and get the correct impact tool to do the job . . .

I don't know, but I was raised, trained, and schooled that each tool has a purpose and you don't use those tools for random things such as the above . . .

Just my thought . . .

Bit ratchet looks neat, but $34 at chads plus shipping, and its very much the sort of thing you never know if you like until its in your hands, plus I have two or three cheap similar things and don't use them very often, not to mention my new GearWrench 1/4" keychain wrench.

If you have the need to tap sockets a few times to seat them, maybe the hammer ratchet would be handy, but I can't see whacking anything with it, not even an impact driver.

I am not a huge fan of some of the newer Multi-Use Tools out there today. I will use my 1/2 Craftsman Ratchet in a bind or stranded or with no other option.

Right Tool for the right job.

Anyone using the sunex bit ratchet? Looks like a similar deal for less $.

Since you asked here you are.... Also the Wera is 60 teeth I read somewhere.... Nice and smaller than the sunex as well, I show it next to a snap on TM936 flex head bit ratchet.
