What does everyone use for tool tracking/inventory?

I have been using asset panda+ bar codes on tools the last few years. The program is over-complicated and the app always has issues. It's a pay program so I expect more.

It seems Milwaukee 1-key has been improved since the last time I used it, but it still has a way to go. I don't see a way for employees to sign off on tools that they are receiving or transfers in the field. It looks like you can change who the tools are assigned to, but that's the extent of it.

The benefit of the one-key is that I can see where the tool physically is (last seen with date anyways) to help track some specialty stuff. Tools move from jobsite to jobsite which is hard to track on any program.

Possibly a combination of one-key and another program for assigning tools. We have barcodes on 300 tools currently.

There was a similar question earlier. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=362734

I linked to a post I did a while back about the product I use.

It does support bar codes, but I have no experience with that part of it. The main downfall is that it is IOS only - no android.

I searched but didn't see anything in the last couple of months. Dang computers.

Does your app support GPS, or multiple users, groups, etc? The Asset Panda I have supports GPS, but you can only see the checkout location from a PC, which is useless if I am on my phone. It allows users to check out tools and sign for them.

I don’t think that the app I use will work for that. It is made for a single user, and doesn’t support asset tracking like that.

I need a quality app that allows my employees to check tools out. Then I can open the app and see what tools John has. Or where tool ABC is checked out to and it's last known location.

The GPS tag is nice because I at least have a fighting chance of where it was last seen- at some point.
