Starrett granite surface plate, Grade A pink, no ledge, 36x60x10. 1980 lbs (surface plate weight, stand adds weight). M6 helicoil inserts (112) 8x14 on 10cm centers. Starrett stationary guard (MPN#82236) with perimeter guard.
Underside is polished and smooth, so the granite piece could be flipped to use that way; would make an interesting tabletop or kitchen island. Both pieces $5000 new. Nothing is wrong with the surface plate; we are moving and we need to get this piece out of our space. So yes, this item is essentially free; however, buyer is responsible for shipping/delivery. If you see this ad, the item is still available.

Good spot, definitely a great deal for $25.

The only thing of concern is the metal rod sticking up going into a hole into the base that needs to be checked. FPU's don't come that way and must have been done by a previous owner, not sure why but maybe to lock the swivel in place. Aside from that, everything else looks good and has all the gibs. Somebody, please grab that.

FPU's are awesome vises. While they're different to the norm, they're one of the best ever made and sell used for big dollars. I miss mine.

This is a low price entry level mill for someone to start off with. Seems like a good price but tolerances need to be checked. Was just posted 1/2 hr ago.

A serious question, I'm confused. People seem to not like it when an individual buys from another individual and then flips the item. At the same time, multiple people who frequent Hot Deals flip deals they get from the stores, and most people seem not to mind.

What is the difference?

For the record, I have never flipped anything, but have bought some flipped items from members here, when I could not find a clearance item for my own use in my own area.

I don't like that either. When the southwire stuff was dirt cheap and I needed a bit of BX I could not get any of it as people were buying it and flipping it on facebook/craigslist. I get having to make money it just sucked and is no different than this. I've flipped some Milwaukee M18 stuff in kits when I needed only one tool from it so I'm the pot calling the kettle black.

He did respond to me declining my offer

Our capitalist system is based off of some entity buying something for a lower price and selling it for a higher price. I know the degrees of separation are closer when it's your local Craigslist (and the person first to the deal has no real supply chain / valuable skills) or other marketplace but it occurs to me it's no different that WalMart buying cucumbers for $.10 and selling them for $.60.

Yup. It's just that the CL stuff usually hits a little closer, but it's the same thing.
