Battery Tenders

I'm putting my TA in storage since I rarely drive it. I drove it the other day for the first time since the end of December.

I'm looking for something to put on the battery to keep it charged and maintained while in storage. I know they make things for this but I don't know which to get and which is best. Anyone have any suggestions

on the Deltran battery tenders. I've used them for years on my motorcycles. Keeps the battery from sulfating but won't ruin it from constant charging.

I use the CTEK US800 which is excellent for cars that are occasional use and it also de sulfates batteries. It is also the OEM charger for Ferrari, lamborghini, maserati etc so I figure it must be Ok to grab those "endorsements".

I just found the CTEC a couple weeks ago when I ordered a new car cover. The guy was selling that brand but I haven't had time to call him up to get more info.

Ill check out the others also. I really like hearing from those that have used the products because it helps to figure out what I should get

The Battery Tender is idiot proof, comes with various accessories so as YOU can decide what works best for you.

Has a no spark technology, reversal protection, 4 stage charging mode that actually works, will not ever over charge, can be left on a vehicle indefinately, 10 year warranty, the cables are super long, made of metal not some cheap aszz plastic, just plain works and cost to value ratio is the best.

C-Tek or Deltrans are both good. C-Tek is fully sealed and I think that is a good advantage. I have sold both of them over the years.

I liked the marketing spin of the Battery Minder brand better than the Battery Tender and bought their "bigger" unit. Study their site for product comparisons, etc. "according to them".

Many report that the gypo HF models work fine.....I don't know.

I have a few vehicles hard wired with Ctek chargers at work. They seem to perform well after being in constant use for over a year.

I couldn't find Betterytender sold locally so I bought a Schumacher brand which I think is similar. It's worked well for the year that I've had it.

i use the deltran junior version for the motorcycles. the cars don't sit long enough to need it, so i haven't gotten the bigger version. the junior works great. i just have pigtails wired to each bike, so i swap the unit around every few weeks.

I just used one of the cheapy harbor freight ones. $3.99 and has been working like a charm. I wouldn't trust it if i didn't walk by it on a regular basis but worked far better than i expected for the money.

I've been using the Battery Tender Junior on my Mustang and it's flawless. Little LED lets you know when it's charging or floating. At $25-ish, it's a no brainer. I'm about to order another one for my truck.

I finally got my car tucked away in storage. I'm looking at the Battery Tender Plus or the CTEK.

I like the CTEK because its sealed and compact but I'm not sure which one to get. Also if someone with the Battery Tender tell me how big it is?

Cant speak to the others - But I picked up a Deltran battery tender when i bought my RV. It has worked flawlessly for the 2+ years I've used it. Batteries are always ready to rock.

I have the same exact one and have been using it for 2 years on my boats trolling motor battery and it is still working great.

Rocket1, you are in Texas so you shouldn't have the same issues as I do with these. The battery tenders that I have for a couple of vehicles work well 11 months of the year. When it gets below -20 celcius, they don't seem to work very well. I also tried those solar chargers, BIG POS.

Most of the new ones have the new style connector now.

Try the C-Tek XS3600 as it should do all you need it to do the + factor is it is a fully sealed unit.

I've had/used my C-TEK 3300 for 3 years now and haven't had any problems with it.

I use it for winter storage on my vette. It's quick and easy to use and keeps everything properly charged.
