Adding air/electric box to 2 post lift

Good day everyone.

I see boxes like this advertised for auto lifts:

All of the instructions I see say do not drill into the lift. Let's say I want to mount one of these on my lift and there are no bolts/holes available. How would you mount it - on the lift - without drilling into the lift? Could I weld studs to the lift?

Can't put a band around it since the arms go up and down and I don't want it that high or low. But I could clamp it. Thanks.

I like that. I would guess that and the pex coming down for air would keep it in place. Thanks.

Could you not bend a bracket around the lift with a nut and bolt to add tension

I can't see the harm in either drilling or welding something onto the lift posts as long as you don't have a bolt sticking thru that would hit the lift arms or interfere with the mechanism in any way as it operates. I think I would drill and tap, then insert and locktite a short stud, then bolt it up.

BTW, who sells those - I like it!

My lift is a forward, and they sell one too. Heck, they might all sell the same one. I can't see paying that for a box so I'll fab something up.

I'm sure I could get a self drilling/self tapping screw in there, but it's under warranty and I don't want to give them any reason.

Here’s a pic of the 5/8” stud mounts I have with swivel base to accommodate misaligned plate holes.

I thought about getting one for my lift, but found you are supposed to run dedicated power to it, not use the lift power source. So for me having a retractable power and retractable air reel works just as well if not better.

Not sure what is in the "box". The Mohawk has a sheet metal center, can bolt anything you want to it.
