New question, a change in plans on shop

Are there any sealer and or densifiers for bare new concrete that are simply spray and go? My slab will be power troweled, unless there is a really good reason not to. I would like to be able to just spray on. Or is that asking too much?

If you are looking for a basic acrylic sealer and are not too worried about extreme chemical resistance then I can suggest using this stuff, Endurable concrete sealer.

I use this on exterior concrete all the time, and apply it with a pump sprayer. If you decide to use this be sure to get a new sprayer that has excellent atomization and you will get nice even coats. I prefer three to four coats sprayed on. Here is a exterior patio I stained and top coated with 4 coats of this product.

I was actually thinking of some type of desifier/sealer. The more I research on you tube, which is of course good and bad, I'm wanting something I can use on the bare slab within the first 30 days or so, before I start building up.

Okay, this is what I'm going to advise for you then. You are not going to find a product that you can just spray on and leave, but the products I am going to give you you will be able to spray on saturate the floor and then you can use a microfiber mop to work them into the concrete. This is the only way. It is very easy.

First you will want to apply a lithium silicate densifier with a pump sprayer and back mop with a microfiber mop. I use Prosoco LS Densifier.

Next I would apply a solvent-borne penetrating concrete protector. I use Prosoco concrete protector SB.

Both of these products apply the same way. Wet out the floor enough to saturate but not leave puddles and use a microfiber mop to work into the concrete using circular or figure 8 patterns. If you applied too thick in one area and it is puddling you can spread it around with the mop or wipe it up with a rad.

Thanks, I guess i wasnt clear in what I said. Never meant to spray and leave it. I always expected to work it with a mop or squeegee. What I meant was that i was hoping to find something that did not require grinding or etching before application

I think I understand that the 4500 is a densifier, what does the 8510 add to that? Or have I misunderstood?

But:
Unless you work in a clean room environment, I LOVE floor paint.
One of my garages had that awful brick red that was popular in the early 70's it wore through where there was traffic.
It was recoated cheap and where it wasn't WORN through it was still stuck well and shiny.

Paint it.
Even, as some here will suggest, it needs repainted every two year for whatever reason... So?
It's two hours to repaint and cheap and 100% freshened.

We have White painted floors in the spousal units garage.
Perfect. And when it's not, in two hours it will be again.

And
We use that same sealer outside. Outside it loses its gloss fast fast. Inside its an almost forever thing until you retouch in traffic areas.
It's time to reseal my patios....

For me it's really going to come down to cost, if I can't do it for $.50/sqft it's not getting done. With that said, I'm not wanting to waste the $.50/sqft on something that won't last. I'm ok with the walkways and heavy use areas wearing, it's a shop not a showplace. I've heard bad things about paint lifting easily. A paint that would stick to bare concrete and not peel is not unattractive to me. Let's say the walkways wear thin and show concrete in 1-2 years, but the other parts of the floor still hold paint, in that case i'm happy.

What kind of paint specifically? Latex? oil-based?

In my experience 14 days is all that is necessary to wait before applying a densifier. On thinner slabs, like a countertop for example, sometimes I only wait 7-10 days before applying a densifier. I have never had issues following these guidelines.

As far as applying resinous coatings, I wait 28 days minimum.

I've been on the internet looking at everything, too much actually.

looks like I'm pretty much decided to do Ghost Shield Lithitek 4500, and then a sealer. Not sure which sealer just yet. I would like to change the color of the finish just because. I found Eagle Gloss coat sealer can be tinted. Are there any others that I can get tinted just to make it different?
