Anyone have experience with Pelican Parts?

I own an AC Hydraulic floor jack, and Pelican parts is a dealer of AC Hydraulic floor jacks and accessories. Recently I wanted to purchase the TOL-FDK1 100mm floor extension. https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/TOOL/POR_TOOL_ACHyd1_pg9.htm

First I needed to check first if it was made of steel or plastic due to certain highly polar solvents that I use, that some plastics could potentially be soluble in. With steel this would be a non issue.

So I used Pelican Part's contact us and asked them:

With it confirmed it was made of steel, I made my order. Today the order arrived. If the customer rep had held it in their hand for even a moment, they would have known it was made of plastic. Its one thing to maybe answer that they can't tell me as they don't have access to the warehouse but to be given the wrong answer has lead to an unhappy customer, a part I don't want, and behind on a project when I expected to have this extension available.

Evidence the extension is plastic (Pretty sure Olfa knives can't cut steel):

Will be seeing tomorrow how difficult the return process is.

Take it by a local machine or fab shop and get them to make it for you.

You're 100% on the money of what I was thinking of doing after this. Also was looking at some of the metal extensions that are sold for 2 post lifts to see if I could adapt one of those.

I've always had good experiences with Pelican

They're probably only as good as the information they're provided, and unlikely to have hands-on access to products, especially in the COVID-19 work-from-home world.

It would have been a good idea to pass along the reason why plastic would be a no-go. Also, cutting it seems like a mistake...
