Rewind Hunter Fan

I have an 1990 Hunter desktop that the motor has crossed over.

Hunter does not offer a replacement motor, or a repair. It is a really solid unit. Much different than their current line.
I considered doing it myself since I have wired alternators and slot cars, but those tiny wires seem so fragile.

Can anyone give me suggestions on how to fix it?

No, but they smell burned.

If you want to rewind the motor field coils as a labor of love I found this series of 19 videos very interesting even if I could not understand a word of Hindi

No special tool just the correct size wire some special paper and lots of time and work.

When you watch the videos remember the fan in the video is a 3 phase motor so it is likely to have 2 or 3 times as many coils.

Be sure to buy a wire gage so you can order the correct gage of wire and count the number of turns carefully.

Rather than count the turns, a re-winder I dealt with told me that he weighs the wire he takes off and replaces that same amount of wire when you rewind.

That way you don't have to count the turns. You will need a precision scale and the weight of a known length of wire.
